({r Whar Are winnine Transits?
INTRODUCTION
Everyone can win at some time in their lives. Very few peoplehave the natal potential to become a professional gambler. Frommy experience, most people have dreams of doing just that.Dreams do not always match reality. In all practicality, if youchoose to do your speculation at the most propitious time - thenyou can win!! If you rely on the fates, or lady luck, or whatever,you will have more losing times than winning times. With theassistance of the Winning Transits program you can time yourdays, hours and minutes of speculation. Remember, if somethinghas happened before, under similar transits and/or similar housecusp contacts - the odds are that it will happen again.
One of the most important issues is what to activate in thenatal chart. I would refer you to Winning!! Zodiacal Timing (mybook on the subject - currently out of print) for more completeinformation on using astrological timing to speculate. Basically,it is a matter of activating your personal gambling placements.For each and every person, these placements are uniquely his orher own. Astro Computing's Winning Thnsits program calculatesall of this for you.
The Winning Transits are computed to save you hours ofhand calculations. They are timed for the location at which youchoose to gamble or speculate. So, it naturally follows that theexact longitude and latitude of that location are a must. 'About"will not work! Please remember to always include the locationat which you intend to gamble or speculate with any order ofWinning Transits.
The Winning Tiansits by necessity must assume that the natalbirth data is gnat eyelash correct. If you have not done enoughexperimentation with your horoscope to be at least llUVo certainof this fact, then you must expect to spend some time inrectification of your birth time. I will expand on how to do thisrectification further into the article.
FORMAT OF THE REPORT
Looking at a page of Winning Transits, the first line showsthe natal birth data. I would suggest always checking this to becertain that it is correct. The second line gives the data for theday of speculation that is in question: day and date ofspeculation;place, including latitude and longitude; and time zone. (Fromthe last Sunday in April until the last Sunday in October, moststates in the United States utilize daylight savings time. YourWinning Tiansits from Astro Computing Services will reflectthis.)
Please note that Astro requires the following information:complete natal birth data, place of intended speculation (name,not coordinates as Astro wil l f igure the time zone) and the dateson which you wish to speculate (day, month and year). Again,double-check this data to be sure that you have sent in the correctinformation. (Our illustration condenses two lines into six dueto space restrictions.)

On the left side of the page, immediately under the birthdata, are the transiting aspects for the day, using Winning orbs,of l5 minutes applying and one minute separating. These are the
orbs, that over the years, I have found to be the most reliable.The closer an aspect is to perfection, the stronger it will be. Thissection of your printout is labeled: "TRANSITS ACTMTINGNAIAL.''
How many of you ever expected to see so many aspectsduring one day??
You will see that the aspects arecoded with a plus, minus or are leftb lank. The pluses are consideredfavorable for gambling. The negatives areusually most harmful in speculation.Those that are left blank do not relate togambling or speculation, but wil lcertainly have an effect in other areas oflife. If the transit is followed by 's' (start),that is the time the transit has moved intothe l5-minute orb. lf i t is marked withan 'x, ' then that is the time the aspect isexact. When it is marked by an 'e'(end), that is the time of the transitmoving past the one-minute separatingorb. A mark of 'r' means that the aspectis exact by retrograde motion.
The aspects that are used in theWinning program to activate the natalchart for winning potent ia l are:Conjunction, Square, Opposition. TheTiine will sometimes work, but usually,one just has a lovely time under Tiines.They are generally not purveyors of goodfortune. The Sextile has little effect onWinning. The Sesqui-square is usually anegative influence and one to be avoidedat all times for gambling. The Semi-square is an aspect that can work for you,if you have learned how to operate withit in the past. The Quincunx is an aspectthat cries for adjustment and change! Itis my opinion that under a Quincunxaspect, one is better off adjusting by notplaying - unless you are one of the veryrare people who has learned how to staytotally motivated to win even under aQuincunx aspect with conflicting "vibes"from other people.
As you will readily see, there will betimes of day that are influenced byseveral transits. The trick is to choose thevery best time to do your gambling. Withthe Winning Tiansits program, thisbecomes most easy, for you will notoverlook an aspect.
CHOOSING DAYS
Before deciding on a particular d,ay or days that you wishto gamble, I would highly suggest that well in advance, you obtainthe Transit Calendar (see page 3) or Winning Overview (see page4) from Astro Computing Services..
The Tiansit Calendar allows you to personally discern whichwill be the best of all times to gamble and win. The Winning

Overview allows you to choose favorable times based on theWinning system, without doing all the tedious calculationsyourself. With both reports, you will not overlook a transit thatotherwise you might miss in simply checking the ephemeris. Quitenaturally, the most overlooked aspect is the Quincunx and themost overlooked transiting planet is Neptune.
In using the Transit Calendar, you are looking for transitsactivating the speculative areas of your natal chart. Deciding whatshould be activated depends on the individual natal chart. Thespeculative houses are 2, 5, 8 and 9 - and sometimes ll and6. Read the intrinsic meaning of the planet in the house and rulingthe cusp. The Part of Fortune works. The Nodes work. Saturnwill, if it is a gambling planet for you (in or ruling a speculativehouse). Jupiter wil l not work unless it is a gambling planet. Ifa gambling planet is in a retrograde station (two degrees applying
orb), put out a yellow flag: caution. Remember, the planet is what;the sign is how; the house is where. Consider the aspects formedby planets in speculation houses: the kind of aspect and whatis making the aspects.
Tiines and sextiles are ease. Tiines point to fun times, butnot much profit.'Sextiles are forgettable where speculation isconcerned. Conjunctions, squares and oppositions are activity.
Quincunx is renunciation or alternatives - rarely good forgambling. Semi-square is stress, but can be used with the properperspective. Semi-square is not enough by itself; look to otherfactors as well. Sesqui-square is trouble. The parallel andcontraparallel show increased awareness, inside. By themselves,they are insufficient. You need other zodiacal aspects as well.Activating orbs are 15 minutes applying, I minute separating.Consistently, the closer, the better on orbs!

A WORD ON TRANSPLUTOIf you are not familiar with the symbol for Tianspluto, it
is O. Over the years, I have found that it is imperative to use thenatal and transiting position of Tianspluto. I refer you to JohnHawkins' book Tianspluto Or Should We Call Him BACCHUSthe Ruler of Thurus? ln 1972 I was urged to use Tianspluto, butbeing reluctant to admit that something that I was not using couldbe important, I did not do so. In 1976, I began using Tianspluto.After years of working with it, I must urge you to also useTianspluto!! I have found that the aspects and position ofTianspluto often have to do with major wins and winning times.Always keeping the thought in mind - to keep any astrologicalsystem as simple as possible - I only add to a basic astrologicalchart that which adds information that cannot be found in anv
according to the WINNING system: + for times favorable tospeculation; - for times unfavorable and a blank for neutraltimes.
It becomes a very simple matter to scan your WinningOverview for days which look more auspicious. You can thenorder your Winning Transits for those preferred days. Thus, youquickly and painlessly narrow the field to certain, selected days.

ABSOLUTE #IThe Winning Tiransits enable you to know the exact time that
you are "On the Wheel," without all the tedious hand calculationsthat would otherwise be necessary. "On the Wheel" is a term thatI have used throughout Winning!! Zodiacal Timing to indicatetimes that the transiting house cusps are contacting the natalhoroscope. When the transiting house cusps are in aspect withthe natal chart, this ties you into the events of that particular
time. This is first and foremost what is needed in order to win.You must be "On the Wheel" in order to win.
Looking again at your Winning printout, the bulk of eachpage has about eight columns on it. These occur just under astatement about TIMES "ON THE WHEEL' and the list of youractive factors (for gambling) in the natal chart. The columns arestructured for each minute of the 24-hour day.
' It is in 24-how clock motion. Thus l:00 PM is 13:00, etc.
You will see various plus and minus periods, as well as some thatare blank. The blank time periods are those that have not provento be a plus for gambling. Now some of those time periods wil lwork for some people. The way to find out is to try it and see.Tiy cautiously or it could be an expensive way to learn.Occasionally, you may find that a time that should be a plus timeis not. That is because of the natal aspects of that position, orthe natal mipoint structure of that position. Never gamble withthe transi t ing midpoint of Mars, Saturn, or Neptunecombinations activating anything in the chart (two minute orb).The other possibility is that the transiting position of a particularplanet is "carrying" with it, difficult transiting aspects or adiff icult midpoint structure.
At the horse or dog races, you are not in direct control oftiming, but are at the mercy of when the race is begun and when

it finishes. However, for casino wagering the situation is totallydifferent, because you can choose your time to play. Thus, playingcan become Winning for greater success because you are in theposition to select the moments that you play.
In the game of Craps, this can sometimes be a problem,because if you are at a full table, by the time the dice reach you,you may or may not be "On the Wheel." The only way to makecertain that you can roll the dice at the time you want, is to beginat an empty table, and that is not always possible.

Wagering are:
l. It is important to leave home on a chart that showsreturning with more money than you had when you left.I-eaving home means when you walk out the door. Youshould also leave home on a plus time for your home base.(This means obtaining Winning Transits for your placeof residence, and walking out the door on a minute whichis a plus time in your Winning printout.) Remember, youwant times that are plus in both "Tiansits ActivatingNatal" and in "Times 'On the Wheel.' "
2. Each time you leave your hotel or place of residence whilein one of the gambling centers (your home away fromhome), you establish a new wagering chart. As in allcharts, each has a "birth" and a "death." In that chart,it is shown how much time you have to wager and win.When the gambling becomes "cold," you must go backto your residence away from home. Take a break, andbegin once more. If calculating this timing seems to betoo much, then just remember: when the tables go cold,go back to your room, takea break and then begin anew.
3. You must leave to gamble on a plus time. (Check yourWinning printout before you walk out the door.) This istrue for every time you depart to go gambling.
4. You must enter the particular casino on a plus time. Ifyou enter a casino on a minus time, then nothing willgo right for you. For instance, you might not be able toget a seat at the particular table that you wanted to playat; the crap table that seems to be "hot" will be full; adealer that you would prefer not to play with replaces onethat you like; there is no space at the visible slots; etc.
5. You must begin playrng on a plus time. If any of the aboveare done on a minus time, it is quite simple: you lose!
This finally explains why one casino will be good for aperiod, and then go cold. In another casino, you can do nothingwhile there, even though you still have the best activating transitspossible. Then, you change casinos and the next one is a placewhere you can only win. Rather than each time returning to your"home away from home," sometimes one can simply changecasinos. Ifthat does not work, go back to that "home base" andbegin once more.
One of the worst concepts is to stay at the same casino,regardless of what is happening: win, lose, draw. Remember, itis no sin to change casinos, either after a major win or adisappointing experience. Casinos love having people stay withthem, hour after hour, because it increases the potential loss.
Everyone has at one time or another remarked that theycannot stand a certain casino and absolutely love another one.If we had access to all the casinos' natal horoscopes, you would
soon see why this is true. Unfortunately, we do not have thisinformation, so we are left following our feelings. If you are aperson who is totally tuned in to your inner feelings, then youwill simply know which is the right place to gamble.
CARDINAL RULES!Cardinal Rule #1 You must know the rules of the game that youintend to play for maximum results.
Cardinal Rule #2 Do not mix Neptune-ruled things, i.e., drinkingor drugs with gambling! Why do you think the "drinks are onthe house" in Vegas? It is also a fairly good idea to stay awayfrom some of the other offered vices, while gambling. 'Nuff said.
Cardinal Rule #3 Decide why you are going to gamble/ speculate.
A. Are you really going to win and show a profit?B. Are you going to just have a good time?C. Are you going just so that you can lose? If that last
sounds odd, many people do go to do just that. Becauselosing verifies for them that whatever they do in life, theyare "born losers." After all, if they should win atgambling, that could be a threat. Winning here suggeststhey could win in all areas of life. Many people justcannot handle that idea. If you think you wil l lose, orare afraid to lose, you will.
There are probably many more rqlsons for gambling thanI have mentioned here. I think it is extremely important to reallybe clear on why you are doing it!
Cardinal Rule #4 Measure your own quotient of greed! It isalmost impossible to turn $2 into $2,000 or more at one shot atthe tables. Be reasonable in your expectations. It is far better toturn $2 into $20 and later $20 into $200, etc. Never bet what youcannot afford to lose.
Cardinal Rule #5 You must learn money management in any typeof gambling or speculation. Poor money management is almosta guarantee that you will return a loser. If you are winning verywell at a casino and plan to stay longer, it is wise to "lock up"part of the profits, by sending them home, in the form of a checkmade out to yourself. Money not in pocket, cannot be spent.
Cardinal Rule # 6 This is probably one of the most important.Never, never say you are using astrology!!!
CASINO PLAYINGSlot Machines are probably the best thing to play for they
can be exactly timed, down to the second. Always play slotmachines that are highly visible in the casino. They are set to payoff much better than those hidden from view.
Slot machines are set for payoff amount by the number ofstars, fruit, etc., on each reel. Each reel after the standard three-reel increases the odds of winning by something like 100,000 toone. So I would definitely suggest that if your game is playingSlot Machines to stick with the three-reel machines. Also, theDollar Slot Machines pay off more often than the others.However, the investment is greater.
With any of the other casino games, you are more subject
to what someone else is doing.
In Blackjack: you are affected by the dealer with his/hertransits and their particular natal potentials, the other playersat the table, the number of card decks that are being used, thenumber of players at the table and how long between shuffles.
In Craps: you are at the mercy of when the dice reach you,the number of players and how long it is between the rolls ofthe dice, unless you begin playing at the right time at an emptytable. And one of the most important factors in the game ofCraps is knowing the number of players at the table and howlong the time is between the rolls of the dice. Another veryimportant thing in playing Craps is knowing how to bet! I haveseen too many people walk away from the Crap table broke,because they did not know how to bet. Craps takes learning boththe game and how and what to bet on. It is a study in itself. Veryexciting game, and you ciln win or lose large amounts in recordtime.
Baccarat is not a game for the fainthearted. Usually theminimum bet is $20. There are a few casinos where one can finda $2 minimum game. As the bet is made either for the Playeror for the Bank, it is largely a game of intuition. A few peopledo extremely well at Baccarat. From experience, it is very difficultto stay clear on the intuitive wavelength with the number ofplayers and their thoughts around the table.
Poker is a casino game where one is playing against otherplayers, not the casino. Many Saturday night poker players wantto try their luck in a casino, because they are so very proud oftheir skill. However, at a casino many of the poker players areprofessional poker players; this is how they make their living,day in and day out. The pros love to get a Saturday night playerinto a game. When Ego enters a game, losses often occur. In aprofessional poker game, to stay in the game or drop out is oftendetermined on the second card. Amateur players want to stay infor that last card and that can indeed be costly. If Poker is yourgame, you need skill, nerves of steel and the luck of the draw
Roulette is one of the games that has fostered grand andglorious stories of "Breaking the Bank." As the odds are playedat 38/1, it is often a game that draws the dreams of the big win.It can be a fascinating game of numbers.
Keno is another numbers game. The odds of any set ofnumbers coming up in one game is really phenomenal. Often therecommendation is to play your favorite numbers and eventuallythey will come up.
In playing any of the casino games that involve a dealer itis important to remember that the dealer may have a better natalchart or better transits than you do. lf you are losing when youshould be winning, change dealers or even casinos. Or go backto your residence away from home and begin again. Do not chasea losing streak.
Interesting Fact: The dealers are one of the most consistentfeatures of the casinos. It is always a good idea to "loke" (tip)the dealers when you are winning. It is very important toremember that their energy is in that particular table - especiallythe crap table, where the dealers spend eight hours of each day."Toking" will have the dealers pulling for you to win. Becauseif you win and you toke when you win - they win too. Ifsomeone does not toke, particularly a person that is really
winning large amounts, the dealers will not give one hoot in you-know-where if you win or not. I have seen dealers rooting forthe players that are toking at a crap table and the energy isincredibly high. Astrologers are more aware of energy that is putout psychically ihan many other folk. Take advantage of theknowledge.
You must know how to bet to survive in any casino gambling!Knowing how to bet can be a key factor in being a winner afterall the chips are counted.
WHAT IF YOUR CHARTIS NOT CORRECT?
One of the best ways to fine tune a chart is to get severalpeople together and play penny blackjack (with limits, of course).Use a table of houses exact to the minute for the location thatyou are planning to play at and an exact timepiece. Mark downthe times that either blackjack is dealt to you, or the times thatyou reach 2l successfully. After several hours, or days or weeksspent doing this, you will find that you are able to fine tune yourchart by what degree and minute was on one of the transitingcusps at the exact moment of success.
One of the other methods to correct your chart is to playthe nickel slot machine, putting your nickels in every l0 to 15seconds of time. Record the results very carefully. I would notsuggest anything higher than nickels, until you fine tune yournatal chart. Dollar slots can be an expensive way to find out ifyour birth time is off by even a few minutes.
Winning Thansits can be used for things other than speculation.For instance, if you were involved with the markets, you couldeasily see times that you are making correct choices. If you havean important business meeting, you can tell when to thrust aheadand when to excuse yourself for a few minutes. Now the questioncomes up: should this be done? If the knowledge is yours, it isyours to use - period!
One difference that I have seen over the years is that transitsare read differently for different people. lf a person is in a reactivemode, then they are usually sitting back waiting for somethingto happen to them and it generally does. Postscript from the PublisherI made a public statement at the 1978 AFA Convention
stating that I was going to try Joyce's system when I visited Reno(Nevada) the day after the close of that convention. I further saidthat if the system worked for me eight times out of ten, I wouldconsider it valid.
I bet the dollar slots at the Golden Nugget from about 5PM ti l l 6:15 PM and won $79. During that 1%-hour interval Iactually bet for fourteen minutes. In addition to using the timeswhen I was "on the wheel," I had run my local space chart forReno and oriented myself so that I walked to the slot machinealong my Jupiter,/Pluto conjunction lines. I also had the adviceof the president of the J-V Company, with whom I was transactingbusiness in Reno. He confirmed that I should bet only on thedollar slots to get the best odds. He also encouraged me tocontinue to bet when I was winning - but I ignored that advice.
One October I visited Las Vegas with my then-wife Rose-marie when we were on a burof the Grand Canyon and the BryceNational Monument in southern Utah. I won a modest $39
betting for nine minutes over a span of thirty-five minutes - thatis, I was "on the wheel" for only nine minutes out of a total ofthirty-five minutes. The third and fourth times I visited [,as Vegaswere on stopovers from San Diego to Minneapolis and back. Thatmeant that I bet in the airport where the odds are probably theworst in Las Vegas because the airport, unlike the casinos, knowsit has no way of keeping you there by increasing the payoffpercentage. You are going to make your connection regardlessof how much you may be winning!
I won $81 over the course of two hours and ten minutes onthe outward-bound trip. Barbara Bethea, Fulfillment andMarketing Manager for ACS Publications, Inc - was with me,and other passengers waiting in the lounge began to question herwhen I went off to the slot machine, bet for a minute or two,then came back and sat down for several minutes. Every timeI went off, they could hear the jingle of silver hitting the bottomof the payoff cup - so they knew I was winning. Barbara thenexplained the business we were in and the report we were usingand handed out a few order forms and one or two catalogs.
On the return portion of the trip, I was only about eightor nine dollars ahead after betting on the last "on the wheel"time slot before boarding the plane for San Diego. So I decidedto see what would happen if I bet "off the wheel." I quickly lostthe $9 that I was ahead. Thus far my record has been four outof four, which means if I win four out of the next six visits, Iwill have fulfilled the condition of winning eight out of ten times(to consider the system valid for me).
Not too long ago I was involved in a business transactionwith a San Diego numismatist. At the end of our businessdealings he told me he was going to Las Vegas later that day. Whenyou have found the starttng llne and thex/r/e lfiee forthesame aspect (that ls, when the qlmbols match), connect the twoblue horZontal lines with a blue vertlcal line, maldng a sort ofgtantcapital'I'. You may need to contlnue yourvertlcal llne overto oneor more additlonal columns, lf the transttlng planet ts mwtng veryslowly. Note also that there may be planets tn orb at the start of themonth, or at the end of the month. In thts case, clrcle them lnblue,and connect them wlth a vertlcal llne ln the same manner.
Conttnue marldng up all the mirrus aspects (e:rcept transfflngMoon lines) ln the sarne way, for the entlre month- one page of theOuqtieut. You will then be able to see at a glance all the periods oftime durlng which you should not speculate, because one ormoreminus aspects are ln effect.
Now take your red pen, and mark up the'+" aspects ln tJre sameway. When you are done, lt wlll be obvlous whlch days offer someopportunity for wlnntng. Remember, one mlnus cancels anynumber of plusses, if they are slmultaneous. Pay attentlon to thepositive aspects of the translUng Moon on good days. You can clrclethe '+' by the translting Moon ltne, tn red, to remtnd yourself. Keeptn mind that the tlme given ls the exact tlme only. A translttng Moonaspect is ln effect for about one half hourbefore tt ts exact, and forabout two mlnutes after lt ts exact.

The Ouentieurwill not show the period between exact and ending. You can estimate theendingtime bynotingthe time elapsedfrom start to exact, and dividing ltby 15. (The applyingorb is 15' of arc, and the separating orb is I'of arc.) Just add one fifteenth of the elapsed timeto the time when the aspect is exact, to get an approdmate ending tlme, whenyou are usingthe Ouqtieu. An additional subtlety: this will not work f the transiting planet is near astation, that is, just golng retrograde or direct.
RECTIF"TING YOT'R BIRTHTIME USING WINNING TRAIIISITSTo use the Wlnntng s5rstem successfully, your blrthtime must be (ln Joyce Wehrman's
words) "gnat's-eyelashcorect-. Veryfewpeoplecanbe confident that thetime ontheirofficialbirth record is exact. In practice, everyone who has not already rectified their birthtime willneed to do so in order to use thls system. However, the Wlnnlng s5rctem ltself provides thetool for the rectificatlon.
Get the Winnhg llansltsfor a few days that look gmd tn the Ouetr'ldent. Affange to playblacl{ack for pennles wlth a fiilend durtng a perlod that looks good, for as many days as youneed to become certaln of your blrthtfme. In pracUce, thls can be a drawn-out process,extendlng over many months.
Joyce Wehrman advocated playlng for pennies when you test, because actual money(however little) is changlng hands. This is a far better simulatlon of caslno play than, say, agame of solltaire, or a computer game, where no money ls trrvolved.
BlackJack is the best tool, because even a rank amateur can deal 5 to 1O hands ofblac$ack per minute, and thls allows exact timrng. Your frtend should be the dealer. S/hewitl htt on 16 or lower, and stand on 17 or htgher, to make lt slmple. (Thts ls the rule for thedealer in some Las Vegas casinos.)
You, as the person testlng, will play llke a fool, deltberately. If the tlmes urre very dlfferent from thosepredicted by the computer, your blrthtlme is off qulte a btt, and lt wlll take a gmd deal of tlme and thought to rectlffit. Persist!

large numbers of people. However, you, as an lndivldual, will probably not match the statisttcal average ln weryway.A natal planet on which you 'should' win may not work f it ts badly alflicted natally. A planet on which you "shouldnot'winmaywork, if it is onthe midpoint oftwo activefactors lnyournatal chart. Youwlll have to flnd these thlngsout by testtng them yourself.
There are factors not shovm in the Ouqtians and lUinning llansits that can'Jinx- you temporarily. If a midpointof transiting Mars/Saturn, Mars/Neptune, or Satum/Neptune is in hard aspect to anythtngf in your chart, within2' of arc, you may lind that you don't win, no matter what else ls going on. Longer Jinx- periods may occur whenNeptune, or even Saturn, goes retrograde wtthln 2 degrees of hard aspect to an acUve factorinyournatal. In that case,you may not win much until the transiting planet has ftnally ended the aspect once and for all. Caution and prudenceare vour best friends at such times.
