Over 160 parents, grandparents and friends visited the school and enjoyed some classroom visits, an awesome assembly featuring performances from Kinder, 1/2J, Stage 2 and 5/6W and then a BBQ lunch on the school grounds. Grandparents, parents and guests also enjoyed the opportunity to visit the Library and purchase a book or 2 for students to enjoy. A huge thank you to Mrs Letfallah for organising the day, teachers for opening their rooms to everyone, students for their excellent behaviour and to all our guests who Im sure all enjoyed the day. Planning will soon be underway for 2020 and any feedback people would like to offer would be gratefully received. Wudhagaragarra Awards On the 6th November these awards will be presented to very deserving people. Categories include Aboriginal and Non -Aboriginal teachers, SLSOs and students, encouragement awards, sport awards and whole school awards. Staff have nominated students for some awards so it will be an eager wait to see if any of them are successful. Regardless of the outcome of these awards, Id like to thank everyone involved in the school for making it the great learning environment that it is. The evening is due to take place on Wednesday 11 th December at the Dubbo RSL Club, with students permitted to bring along as many family members as theyd like, the only exception being that they need to be over 18 years of age. Being a school event this is a no alcohol evening and is always a great way to end the year. Please note, any Year 6 student suspended from school from this Thursday, 31 st October, up until the 11th December will be deemed ineligible to attend this event. Wiradjuri Concert Our school was fortunate enough to be invited to participate in the Wiradjuri Concert at the Dubbo Regional Theatre and Convention Centre (DRTCC) in yesterdays workshop and then today and tonights performances. For this evenings performance, students will need to be dropped at the back of the DRTCC at 6.30pm Tuesday evening already dressed in their black clothing. Parents can attend the concert for free which begins at 7pm. It will be approximately 1 hour in duration with students able to be picked up from back of the DRTCC after the concert. Water Restrictions Unfortunately with the worsening of the drought the new water restrictions, Level 4, will be in place as of this Friday. This means that we will be unable to water any grass areas at all but we should be allowed to keep gardens and hedges/trees alive. Hopefully the drought will break soon and then our grounds can return to their usual lovely appearance, as Mr Munro does such a fantastic job in providing lovely playing surfaces for the students to play on.
