Have students turn to the next available page in the November section of the Hawk Journal.

Type 1 – 1 minute list 3 things that you are grateful for this year.Students will have written the typical – my mom, my dad, my phone

Have a conversation about those little things that we take for granted such as, spending time and playing with baby sister, having the opportunity to go fishing this summer with their grandpa, studied for a test got a score you were hoping for, beautiful sunrise on the way to school this morning.

THEY DOType 1 – Give the students 5 minutes to list another 3 thoughtful things they are grateful for.

Have students write in complete sentences the top 5 things they are grateful for, one on each feather of their turkey

ORHave students trace their hand – thumb is the neck and head – fingers are the feathers add another feather – Write in complete sentences on the “feathers”- some legs, a beak, some eyes, Sooooo elementary cute.

ColorCut outHang on your door or available wall. Return to the students on the 25th. Encourage them to take them home and share with their family during their Thanksgiving celebrations.
