Fiji’s history is based on two cultures, the indigenous Pacific Islands culture and the traditions of the Indian culture. In our wedding portrait we want to honor both traditions, getting unique touches for a special ceremony. Fijian Wedding Portrait

Fiji is world wide reknown for their Fijian Pearls… the treasure out of the sea… this is our theme, where the guest will find unexpected little surprises during their stay. The invites are printed with the pearl logo, in burgundy red and in addition we insert a real pearl onto the card. The flower decorations are made of our island grown orchids in white, yellow, green or purple in combination with matching pearls shimmering in the bouquets. The pearl will find itself again during the reception dinner’s desert: a hidden pearl in a white chocolate shell with champagne espuma ~ a memory of this special day to take home. The wedding day will be planned as each bride and groom to be, wished for. If the ceremonies are held in the mornings or afternoons, in the chapel or at the beach, every wedding will be planned individually through our wedding planner and bridal concierge.

Indian Inspiration Wedding Portrait

The traditional beginning of this Indian inspired Fijian wedding is the procession. It is an ancient ceremony, resembling the arrival of the groom, often performed on horseback. Friends and family rejoice and dance to the Indian music celebrating bride and groom and the marriage also of two families.

Vibrant colors, sensual incents and lush flower decorations set the theme in the tropical island atmosphere. Malas, colorfull floral garlands, are presented to the bride and groom. Fire places play a vital role in celebtaring the sancticity of marriage. A special gift for the wedding party are individually made Saris, to be tailored on the island for the bridemaids or for the guests.

Traditional Mendi henna applications can be customized as small wedding tattoos (that don’t last forever). The place of the ceremony can be on the beach, in the chapel or at any location the bride and groom wishes to be wed.

Taking away all the worries, hassles and stomach aches of organizing a big party…..that is what we are here for. If it starts with sending out the “save the date” cards, the invitations, until the very last thank you note. In times of the world wide web and its new inventions ~ we take it back to the traditional letters with ink and a beautiful stamp.

During the stay of the bride and groom, a wedding concierge is there for any little details, wishes and for comforting the mind, so that bride and groom may enjoy their special wedding time on Laucala Island !

The tropics offer a beautiful variety of plants and flowers: wild growing Gardenias, Frangipani, tropical Lilies and Orchids. We are proud of our large orchid nursery on island that offers the most beautiful variety of orchids in color and shape. The perfect flowers for the bridal bouquet, chapel decoration and for table center pieces.

Personalized Wedding gifts

The ideas are endless … from a personalized beach bag with the brides and grooms favorite book, signature flip flops and a personal beach sarong…. for a relaxing day out on the beach. In our Spa we can create a special scent out of essential oils for the wedding party: making scented candles, lotions and soaps.

Death certificate if widow or widower Legal age for marriage in Fiji is 18 years Names of two witnesses, 21 years and over Single certificate if parties are not Fijian citizens Passport and valid Visa photocopy Police clearance from home country Through the commonwealth agreement Fijian weddings are recognized by most countries. Minimum stay for wedding legalities of the Ministry of foreign affairs is 4 days.
