Did You Know?

Just as Father Paul and Father Anthony are called to serve at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, so they are also the priests responsible for Our Lady of the Assumption in Bloomingburg. That is why you may not see one of them on a given weekend: he is spending that weekend attending to the people at Our Lady of the Assumption. It is a small church, but has a very loyal congregation who are justly proud of their faith. They have such a strong spirit. Just as Father Anthony and Father Paul delight in ministering to this great parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, so also they find joy in Our Lady of the Assumption Parish. It is a privilege to be involved in both places.

MONTHLY SPIRTUAL DIRECTION Spiritual Direction will be held on Thursday, January 18th from noon-3:00pm (snow date is Wednesday, January 24th) at The National Shrine of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel. A light lunch will be served. Cost is $20 per person. The Session will be presented by JoAnn Atlas & Fran Fay, both Certified Spiritual Directors. For more information, call Carol Bezak Shrine Director at: 845-343-1879.

2017 END OF YEAR CONTRIBUTION STATEMENTS

Just a reminder that the annual contribution statements are no longer automatically sent out to everyone. Contribution statements, for tax purposes, are available upon request. If you wish to receive a statement please call the Priory Office during working hours. Thank you.

ROSARY PRAYER GROUP Join us for the recitation of the Rosary on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Thursday of each month at the Priory Chapel at 7:00pm and at 6:00pm on the last Thursday of the month at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. The Rosary is one of the most powerful resources that we have. Come and pray with us!

A NEW YEAR'S PRAYER

May God make your year a happy one! Not by shielding you from all sorrows and pain, But by strengthening you to bear it, as it comes; Not by making your path easy, But by making you sturdy to travel any path; Not by taking hardships from you, But by taking fear from your heart; Not by granting you unbroken sunshine, But by keeping your face bright, even in the shadows; Not by making your life always pleasant, But by showing you when people and their causes need you most, and by making you anxious to be there to help. God’s love, peace, hope and joy to you for the year ahead.
