Maryvale Primary School’s 1st grade with Ms. Goldthwait 2018 Hi! October was our first month of the program and we had fun learning. ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS Students have used the Epson board, IPads, whiteboards and playdough as promised to review spelling words. Spelling City is a huge hit. Students review their classroom words by “playing” educational games. On Thursdays we conduct our DISCO SPELLING BEE. We are using a free digital journal called, Seesaw with IPads. Students are drawing pictures to answer questions then using word processing to type and finally record their voices. Mystery Doug has been teaching us many facts. We learned: Which is the biggest spider in the world? Why fish can’t breathe on land? and last but not least Why things glow in the dark? We practiced making math bonds with Halloween Stickers. 8

Hi! October was our first month of the program and we had fun learning.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTSStudents have used the Epson board, IPads, whiteboards and playdough as promised to review spelling words. Spelling City is a huge hit. Students review their classroom words by “playing” educational games. On Thursdays we conduct our DISCO SPELLING BEE.
