The family of the late Sadie Doherty wish to thank most sincerely all those who sympathised with them in their recent sad loss. Our deepest thank to those who attended the removal, funeral Mass and burial. To those who called to the house and sent Mass cards, thanks to Fr. Byrne, the choir, John Walsh and the grave diggers. The family of the Late Kathleen Foley, High Street, Graiguenamanagh would like to express our heartfelt thanks to all who sympathised and supported us on the recent loss of our loving mother. To everyone who attended the Wake, Rosary and Funeral. A special thanks to Dr. Lonergan, Dr Helly and the Clinic Staff for their care down through the years.Thanks to the home help team and the Home Care team for the wonderful care given to our mother during the last few weeks. Thanks to Fr. Byrne, Seamus Holden and the choir, the alter servers also the catering ladies in the hall after the burial.

SENIOR CITIZENS COMMITTEE - FUNDRAISING RAFFLEThe Senior Citizens Committee will soon be selling raffle tickets to top up our funds for our Christmas Party and Summer Outing. The Duiske Inn has kindly offered us a spot outside the premises next weekend during the town of books. They have also provided a lovely voucher as a prize, for which we are very thankful. Tickets are just €1 each and there are nice prizes up for grabs. We would appreciate it if you could support us in this fundraising venture. Carlow Choral Society welcomes new members this Autumn. Our new term starts on Monday 4th September in The Cathedral Parish Centre in Carlow Town at 7.45pm. Adult Education Duiske College
Outdoor Sports and Recreation QQI Level 5
This one year course equips successful candidates with the experience and qualifications to instruct people in outdoor sports, including canoeing, hillwalking and biking among other sports. The area of outdoor recreation is one that has increased in popularity in Graiguenamanagh over the past number of years, and graduates can set up their own business, or work part or full time for existing businesses.
Creative Media QQI Level 5
This one year course includes modules in animation, drawing and digital photography, among other subjects. It prepares students to work in the areas of art and animation, areas that Kilkenny is particularly strong in. It is also a very good course to use as a foundation course to enter Third Level Art courses (we have progression agreements with LIT, WIT and Carlow IT). Graduates of this course can also progress to our Level 6 Visual Art course.
Visual Arts QQI Level 6
Visual Art is a one-year, full time course and it offers students the skills and understanding needed to pursue a career in visual arts or for progression to other courses. Students are encouraged to develop their own style of visual arts and work can be used to prepare a portfolio to gain entry to Third Level courses.
Business and Computer Studies QQI Level 5
This course includes modules in word processing, payroll, bookkeeping, spreadsheets and database, among other subjects. Successful graduates will have the skills and qualifications to go directly into the workplace, in business and office environments. This course can also be used to progress to Third Level
courses (again, we have Progression Agreements with Carlow IT and WIT, to make the transition easier for students). It is also an excellent course for school leavers, as a way to gain computer skills before they set off for college.
Business QQI Level 6
Business is a one year full-time course which gives students the opportunity to gain qualifications in business management, marketing, human resources and other business areas. Students may choose to progress to third level with possible exemptions, or to work using the qualifications that they have gained.
REMEMBER: ALL COURSES CAN LEAD TO 390 CAO POINTS FOR ENTRY TO COLLEGE

We would like to thank Dr Val Lonergan and the staff of Graignamanagh Health Centre who were so good to Todd over the years and also Bridget, Eilish and all the staff of Gowran Abbey Nursing Home who cared for Todd with great kindness during his time there.
Thanks again to our neighbours in Brandon Park for all their help and support.
We also want to thank Hugh Byrne, Funeral Director, Fr Byrne, Sr Cora and the choir, David Williams and the Altar Servers.
We are very grateful too to Tracey in Daisy Chain, to those who prepared the grave, to Graignamanagh GAA Club for the guard of honour and to the Funeral Catering Committee for the excellent service provided at the Abbey Hall.
Finally to the many people who called to the house during the wake, attended the funeral mass and burial, sent cards, flowers and messages of support and sympathy – go raibh míle maith agaibh go léir.

It’s that time of year and Town of Books Festival is once again approaching. We would like to thank everybody for their support last year. We had a wonderful turnout and this year will be bigger and better.
Competition Two – Literary Fancy Dress
Town of Books are delighted to announce a Literary Fancy Dress Competition. Taking inspiration from the characters and era of any book you have read, design and make your own costume.
Up-style old material, stitch, knit, felt, embroider, patchwork, attach buttons, lace, ribbons, zips – there are endless possibilities. Use new or old materials to create a riot of colour. It’s all about imagination and creativity – something we are not short of here in Graiguenamanagh.
