Aims and Scope The main objective of the Conference is to provide a greater understanding of the

fundamentals, principles and technologies, associated with the design and operation of heat pipes, heat pumps, refrigerators and power sources. The Conference will also be a means of disseminating information concerned with resent research and development activities in the above mentioned field and related areas, such as: air conditioning, cryogenics, electronic cooling, etc.

It will provide a forum for persons involved in research, development, design and operation of heat pipes, heat pumps, refrigerators, cooling and heating systems, power sources and will also be of interest for scientists and engineers working in areas such as heat and mass transfer science, energy management and environmental.

Main Topics Fundamental and experimental research of the basic processes connected with

physical phenomena in heat pipes, thermosyphons, heat pumps, refrigerators, solid and liquid sorption heat machines (heat and mass transfer in capillary systems and porous media with or without chemical transformations, two-phase flows, interface phenomena, processes of sorption, boiling, evaporation and condensation).

Modeling of heat pipes (traditional, variable conductance, cryogenic, miniature/micro, CPL, LHP, pulsating, revolving and rotating) and solid sorption devices start-up, steady-state and transient performances.

Mini- and micro-scale heat transfer at phase changes – fundamentals, experiments, applications:• electronic, optoelectronics, MEMS cooling; • refrigeration systems; • phase changes in micro channels and mini-channels; • single-phase flow and two-phase flow; • heat transfer in nanoporous structures; nanofluids; nanotechnologies; • heat transfer in fuel cells. Scientific, space, industrial and domestic applications of heat pipes, heat pumps,

refrigerators and power sources.Materials problem in heat pipes, heat pumps, refrigerators and power sources.State-of-the-art surveys of heat pipe and sorption machines (in different countries and

different fields).

Conference City Minsk, the capital of the Republic of Belarus, is a modern city having a population about

2 million inhabitants. It is an important industrial, administrative and cultural center of Belarus with more than 940 years-long history. Minsk meets its guests with splendors of broad avenues and boulevards, spacious squares, green parks and public gardens. There are a number of theatres, museums, art galleries, exhibitions. The Republic of Belarus with population about 10 millions is a country of plains, low hills, tranquil rivers, lakes, green woods and meadows. The climate is mild and moderate. During the time of the Conference the temperature is usually comfortable 18÷25C, but

TravelMinsk is connected by international airlines with many cities: Frankfurt-Main, Vienna,

Warsaw, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Paris, Milan, London, Prague and many others. Minsk is the largest transportation hub in Belarus. Minsk is located at the junction of the

Warsaw-Moscow railway running from the southwest to the northeast of the city and the Liepaja-Romny railway running from the northwest to the south. All trains (or direct carriages) to Moscow starting from Berlin, Bern, Geneva, Warsaw, Vienna, Cologne, Paris, Prague, Copenhagen, Frankfurt-Main, Brussels, Oslo pass through Minsk. One can also reach Minsk by plane only, not by train or bus, via Moscow or St.-Petersburg. If this way of transportation is chosen, it is strongly recommended to book the tickets from Moscow and St.-Petersburg to Minsk at your travel agencies, since such reservations in Moscow or St.-Petersburg may be difficult.

There are three intercity bus stations that link Minsk with the suburbs and other cities in Belarus and the neighboring countries. Frequent schedules of bus routes connect Minsk to Vilnius, Riga, Kiev, Warsaw etc.
