Almost all “Apps” and features that require logins on your child’s device are pre-programmed with logins already. If your child ever needs to login to something, most of the time it will be their:

Login: Student id (6100 number) Password: Date of birth (00/00/0000) Take out the slashes when entering

this.

As mentioned earlier you should not need this information, however if asked for it MOST of the time this is the login. If not working, please reach out to your teacher to confirm login.

28

Page 29:  · Web viewMake sure that your students open any documents attached in “word”, the other options will give a distorted, unworkable view. Office 365 Accessing Curriculum (Textbooks)

Being connected to Parent Connect and “Q” is a great way to monitor your child’s grades, progress, and stay in contact with your child’s teachers throughout the year.

This is what “Parent Connect” looks like, it is on the district webpage under “Parents” and “Parent Resources”

Here are some of the things you will see:

Grades Teachers by period with emails Attendance

Such a valuable tool, as you know what is going on in your student’s academic performance.

**** IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A PARENT CONNECT ACCOUNT OR YOUR INFO IS NOT CURRENT CONTACT YOUR SCHOOL OFFICE FOR HELP.

Page 30:  · Web viewMake sure that your students open any documents attached in “word”, the other options will give a distorted, unworkable view. Office 365 Accessing Curriculum (Textbooks)

How do I access my student’s grades?

You need to have a Parent Connect account set up with your district, it allows for you to access the “Q” grading system for your student and get other important access from your student’s teachers.

How do I contact my student’s teacher?

You can email your student’s teacher Send them a chat from your child’s computer (identifying yourself as the parent) Call the school and ask for your teacher to return your call

How can I help my child each day?

Get your child to bed early and up early enough to eat breakfast and be prepared for the day.

Ensure your child charges their device every night Sit your child in a room with no distractions or background noise (teachers and other

students can hear every noise in the background) Check out your child’s daily schedule so you know what they are to be doing for the day. Check to be sure your child has submitted all assignments due for the day. Make sure your child attends all meetings scheduled for them Ask teachers for recorded instructional videos from the days lessons to help your child

with homework.

What do I do if my child’s device is not working?

Contact your teacher so he/she can put in a work order for the computer Wait for the office or technology department to call you to bring your device in to be

fixed. (You will be called, so be sure your phone numbers on file are up to date with the office)
