Reading – I can use adjectives to describe a character’sappearance, personality, thoughts and feelings.

Read one of your levelled readers on PM online. Draw or trace the outline of one of the characters in the book and write as many adjectives about the character as you can on the inside.

Challenge – put those adjectives into full sentences underneath your drawing.

Reading – I can identify and use subheadings in an information report.

Read a book at home or on PM online and list all the adjectives that you can find in the book.

Challenge – write down the sentences that include those adjectives. See if you can change the adjectives to make funny sentences.

Set a timer for 2 minutes and see how many purple things you can find in your house.

Pick 6 movements and label each movement to a number one through six. Roll the dice and whichever number comes up, do that movement!

Balance something on your head such as a bean bag, soft toy or paper plate. See how many laps of the room you can do without the object falling off. If you are up for a challenge, try with one eye closed.

PDHPE – Escape the lionsOne person is the ‘lion’ and the other is ‘mtu,’ (people). The goal of the mtu is to capture the lions’ treasure, which are beanbags (or any other object).The lion is blindfolded and the mtu must try to take a beanbag from the lion without being captured.Set a timer to one minute and see if you can capture the treasure. If there are more players, then there could be more lions or more mtu.

TENS GameTo start each Maths session your child might like to start with a warm-up game for 10 minutes. These games are designed to help improve numeracy understanding and skills. There are 5 different difficulty levels for this game. Select the appropriate level and allow them to practise at this level for the week. Level may need to be adjusted depending on progress.
