Meet Hangouts for Online Home LearningHow to Use Google Classroom:Log in to your school account.On the top right you will see a square of dots, if you click on them you will find Classroom. Click to open.

Now, please pay attention to the circled words.Stream means children will see the above layout. They can share something with their class: questions, answers, greetings, thoughts, news. Messages must be polite and nice otherwise will be deleted and parents will be emailed to be informed.If they click on People, they might be able to see who is in their classroom. We will have several teachers including the Head Teacher, Sr Soobia, Ustadah Hafsa, Amatullah, Ghazala and Memona, as well as Ustadh Mahmoud and Urooj.

In this part of their Virtual Classroom, they can see All Topics which currently are English, Maths, Quran, IS, Arabic, Science, RE, Reading and Geniuses’ Stuff.In each topic, they find related assignments which are for now the same assignments, they have been given in their packs. Children who love working on paper can continue doing it. Children who love working at the computer, can submit their work by adding a word doc with their answers. They can attach docs where they see this symbol. We cannot emphasise enough how important is for them to get used to Google Classroom though as this will make their learning easier and smoother in the near future. In Reading, they can find lots of e-books for their daily reading if they do not have any physical book to read at home and the Anglo-Saxon Boy Extract, they will need for one of their assignments.

In Geniuses’ Stuff, they find extra activities to keep entertained in a nice way. Those are not compulsory but will be updated weekly for fun. Remember, if they choose to submit an assignment online, they will have to click on hand in. There is a Due Date as well as guidance. Sometimes they can write on the same doc, some other times, they will have to attach a doc where they see this symbol. If they don’t feel like attaching files yet, then they will have to make pics of their work and send it to us daily.It’s very important that you put all the pics in one single email with the daily work to send to us by 4pm.We have not received any work yet from Day 1!Late work will not be marked. Register will be done daily, so all kids need to log in from 1.30pm to 3pm every day starting from Wednesday 25th March 2020.

How to use Meet HangoutsLog in in your school account and go to Calendar.

When you are in the Meet Hangouts, please keep your microphone off unless told to turn it on just to give an answer after which you will have to turn it off again.

Chat is for answers during lessons. Nobody is allowed to chat about personal things. You can use the Stream to have fun and exchange nice and polite messages but not the chat during online lessons! People tells who is attending the same classroom.Turn on captions gives you the chance to see what’s being said. Then enjoy your lesson!Get ready with paper and pencil or whiteboard and whiteboard pen and your pack for the current week.You might need some water to keep hydrated too.
