Literacy/topicWatch the uploaded video on Tapestry of me reading ‘Little Red Riding Hood’Then read it with a grown up on Twinkl (Little Red Riding Hood ebook) – can you change your voice like I did? Now try and retell the story from what you can remember.

Discuss what you think about the characters? How would you describe them? How could the story have ended differently? How did the wolf trick Little red? Can you remember what she said to the wolf when she saw him in grannies bed? What did the wolf reply?

Day 2Phonics Go through the ‘phase 2 letters and sounds powerpoint’ on Twinkl, saying the letter name and the sound that it makes for each one. Can you say a different word than the picture that begins or ends with that letter sound? Can you write a word each for letter h, b, j, m, n and o?

MathsFill in the missing numbers to get to granny’s house on the red riding hood missing numbers sheet on Twinkl.

Then complete the Little red riding hood counting sheets. Practise writing the numbers you form incorrectly.

MathsBefore beginning to write number sentences as we did yesterday – please support your child with just using objects that they can touch to add 2 groups together. It is important that they understand the concept that there are two separate amounts first and that we are combining them to find a total amount. With this the amount grows in value and there are now ‘more’. Start off with adding 2 groups together that total 10 (you can use anything around the house – pasta, grapes, lego, toy cars, dolls, teddies etc.Reinforce that they are adding whilst they are combing the groups by showing them the add symbol (or using the action as shown on zoom yesterday) and then reinforce that they are finding the total amount once by showing them the equals symbol or action while they are adding the amounts together. Then say the number sentence out loud together e.g. ‘so we have found that six add two equals eight’

MathsComplete the ‘counting on fairytale addition powerpoint’ on Twinkl. Start at the given number and count on how many it says on the dice. Then see if you can say that as a number sentence. E.g. I started on 2 and I moved 3 spaces now I am on 5 so 2 add 3 equals 5.

Then have a go at the ‘winter themed addition power point’ on twinkl.

Literacy/TopicUsing the ‘Healthy and unhealthy food sorting pictures’ on twinkl can you say which are healthy or unhealthy and why? You don’t need to print them off you can just look at them on the screen and discuss. Can you then create a healthy plate of food/lunchbox/ basket for granny by drawing it.

MathsPractise recognising, writing and ordering numbers to 20.You could play games like snap, or show 2 numbers, take one away and ask which one is missing? Hide numbers around the house and when they find one shout out the number.
