The sacrament if the Anointing of the sick is meant for all the faithful that need it. Our care for those who are suffering around the world helps us to grow closer to Jesus. Reconciliation, the Anointing of the Sick, and the Eucharist as viaticum are sometimes celebrated together and called the last sacrament. As Christians, we believe that when we are suffering, Jesus is with us sharing our pain. Jesus is with those who hope for eternal life. Trust in God, prayer and hope can help all of us through difficult times. Jesus understand our pain and suffering because he suffered and died on the cross. We learn to rely on God and our faith community. The prayer is an important part of the anointing of the sick.
