Most R&D products from Higher Learning Institutions, Research Institutions and SMEs are left uncommercialised due to the lack of knowledge, skills and support required on the next step towards translating research to business. Most researchers were hardly exposed to the strategic initiative needed in taking their ideas to market. Thus, the five training modules for commercialisation would prepare the participants for a successful business venture. This training workshop will also address issues such as the gaps between SMEs and researchers, lack of information and exposure to SMEs on R&D products. Consequently, this limits the interest to venture into the commercialisation of R&D products produced by the researchers. Hence, it is also important to expose SMEs on how to communicate with the researchers to initiate business ventures.
