Anej (Founder): “Mediterranean food is one of my greatest passions. I enjoy cooking and I use only fresh herbs. I started my love for cooking and gardening at a very young age and I see that my son Tine is following in my footsteps. Some time ago, we were playing in my mom’s garden and I promised I would make him a unique balcony garden, so that we could grow our herbs and spend more time together. Now we wish to share our wonderful idea to the whole wide world!”

Who are we?

We are a young and aspiring start-up team from Slovenia (EU) and are developing products and accesories for urban gardening united with the brand Urban Planty.

What do we do?

We have developed a unique jute pot with its own water reservoir, called Urban Baggie. We would now like to present it together with a free standing vertical garden – Urban Planty.

At what stage are we?

We have just made our fi nal improvements to the Urban Baggie and have also fi nished the fi nal prototype for the Urban Planty garden.

What do we want?

We need additional fi nancial resources to make tools for plastic injection that are needed for the Urban Planty garden production. Our future goal is also to improve and fi nish the development of Big Baggies (with volumes of 5 L and 15 L).

What is our goal on Kickstarter?

Kickstarter will hopefully spread the word about Urban Planty to the international market and help us get resources for the development of our new product and production. We are aiming for 120,000 USD to be able to launch Urban Planty to the market.

Gardening is our passion because we can grow, prepare and enjoy fresh food at home. But what about people who live in big cities and have no space for a garden, but would like to have one? We have developed a solution for you, a unique stand with adjustable telescopic pole that is one of the simplest accessories for urban gardening - the Urban Planty garden. It does not require much space, it is aesthetically beautiful and easy to use (no drilling required).


The stand imitates the spiral growth of plants, which maximizes the space and the amount of light your plants need. Urban Baggies can be easily adjusted to your preferred height, since ring shelves are not fixed. At the same time, this feature enables you to grow plants with different growth conditions in one place and position them according to their required sun position (full shade, partial shade, full sun, etc.).

Urban Planty is perfect for indoor as well as outdoor use. A special screw mechanism is inserted into the system that guarantees stability and an internal spring provides safety of the whole construction unit in case of temperature changes and extreme weather conditions.


URBAN BAGGIE WITH A REMOVABLE WATER RESERVOIR


The jute lasts 1-3 years, depending on the geographical region and which watering method you use. It can be replaced by ordering a replacement or DIY (sewing manual). The plastic reservoir is available in a full range of colors or in a wood-plastic combination (still in development).


WATERINGThere is a recurrent problem with existing plastic plant pots on the market in connection with watering, since water drains too fast and soil dries out, therefore extra care is needed. But with the Urban Baggie watering can become more efficient, since it offers various watering methods and the water reservoir has three functions, namely irrigation, attachment of the Baggie to the stand and holding water.
