Course(s) will not be recorded on students’ permanent academic record

4. ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES Dropping of Course(s)


Must submit notification in writing to the Regional Office (using form R-CW)

Adhere to the stipulated deadlines

Course(s) will be recorded with grade ‘W’

4. ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES Withdrawal from Course(s)


Must submit notification in writing to the Regional Office with documentary evidence (using form R-DS).

The approved deferment period will lapse on the next offering of the same course(s).

4. ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES Deferment of Studies


The assessment for any course consists of two (2) components:

Overall assessment (100 %) = weighted total of both components.

To pass a course, a student must pass both components, except for MPWcourses where the passing grade is based on the overall assessment score.

5. ASSESSMENT

Component Undergraduate Postgraduate

Continuous Assessment 50 % 40 %

Final Examination 50 % 60 %

Note: The above does not apply to the CEMBA/PA Project Course. The CEMBA/PA Project Course is assessed based on the Final Project Report which carries 100% weightage.

5. ASSESSMENT Tutor Marked Assignments (TMAs)


Late Submission of TMAs (1) Penalty

Late submission of TMAs without prior approvals:30% penalty of the marks awarded.

The Course Coordinator reserves the right to reject the assignment in which case a zero score shall be given for the TMA.

Students are therefore reminded to seek prior approvals should they need to seek for extension of TMA submission dates.



Late Submission of TMAs (2) Exceptions

New students are given one semester (only for first semester) grace period and shall be exempted from the 30% penalty ruling.

The Course Coordinator reserves the right to reject the assignment in which case a zero score shall be given for that assignment.



Extension of TMA Submission Deadlines Must apply for approval ONLINE No extension for the last TMA

i.e..: TMA 3 for Graduate Diploma and Undergraduate programmes TMA 2 for Postgraduate programmes If approved, TMA will be accepted for marking

(marks will count).



Approving Authorities (To Extend the Deadline of TMA Submission)

GRADUATE DIPLOMA & UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMESa) TUTOR: within 7 days.b) COURSE COORDINATOR (CC):

after 7 days but not more than 14 daysc) DEAN: beyond 14 days* No extension for TMA 3 will be considered.



Approving Authorities (To Extend the Deadline of TMA Submission)

POSTGRADUATE PROGRAMMES a) TUTOR: within 7 days.

b) DEAN: after 7 days but not more than 14 days

* No extension for TMA 2 will be considered.



PlagiarismStudent shall not present work of others as his/her own work without acknowledgement …

Committed academic dishonesty: liable to proceedings and disciplinary action.



Absence From Examination

Student must notify the Registrar in writing :-

If due to ill health - with relevant medical certificate

If due to a serious cause - with documentary evidence of the cause

* Absent from exams without University’s approval is deemed to have failed the exam.

5. ASSESSMENT Examinations


Eligibility For Examinations

You are eligible to sit for the examination if you have (regardless of the TMAs performance):-

Registered for the course

Not been barred from the examination



Examination Misconduct

What is examination misconduct?Bringing unauthorized materials into the exam venue.

Communicating with other students during the exam through any means.

Copying/cheating in an exam.

A student alleged to have committed misconduct shall be liable to proceedings and disciplinary action.

5. ASSESSMENT ExaminationsGrading System (POSTGRADUATE)


Eligibility to Re-sit / Supplementary Examination

A student who has failed the exam can re-sit provided:

a) Passed continuous assessment component

b) Achieved an acceptable level in the exam i.e. “FR” (fail-re-sit)

grade

c) How often? Only re-sit once

d) When? The next semester (on the 7th week)

e) Fees: Has paid a re-sit fee of RM200/course



Repeating a Course

Those who failed OR passed but wished to improve the overall grades.

The best grade achieved will be used in the computation of the Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA).

There is no limit to the number of times a student can repeat a course.



To be eligible for the award of Graduate Diploma / Undergraduate degree, you must: a) Meet the requirements of the chosen programme.

b) Achieve a CGPA of 2.00 and above.

c) Obtain at least 70 credits (for Graduate Diploma) or 120 credits (for Undergraduate Degree).

d) Achieve a minimum grade C (2.00) for MPW courses.• Bahasa Kebangsaan A• Malaysian Studies• Pengajian Islam/Pendidikan Moral
