WRITERS’ WORKSHOP POETRY SPOTLIGHT

Sycamore Tree

As I walk my tree lined streets, My breath goes out to the trees

And the trees return their breath to me. We both evolved from Star Dust–

The breath of our Creator!

Nature is really an artist as the trunk is painted with colors that look like camouflage!

My fingers touch its patches and our spirits touch and we are one!

What wisdom do you offer me?

“Am I in Creation or is Creation in me”? For now I rest in your salience with gratitude for a

new gift on my walk , A Sycamore Tree.

**This poem was written by member

Barbara Carpentier.**

Close to Nature One of the joys of country living was the closeness to nature. Any day I could walk into the woods at the end of our cul du sac. Down the hill was a creek where my dog had a blast frolicking in the stream. The walk back through the trees was peppered with a sea of Indian paintbrushes and trilliums. A crystal vase filled with the beautiful, white flowers with lush, green leaves brought nature home to my kitchen. Worth whatever the no- pick ordnance would cost me.
