FR Un café intime et un magasin de photogra-

phies en un. On peut acheter ici des photographies

destinées à la décoration d’intérieur, imprimées sur

des cubes spéciaux, prêts à être suspendus. Il n’est

pas nécessaire de se presser pour le choix, avec un

café et un gâteau on peut passer toute la journée au

Melon. D’autant plus qu’outre les photographies el-

les-mêmes, les albums sont aussi accessibles (une

partie à la vente, l’autre seulement en exposition).

EN A small cafe and a shop with photographs in

one. Take a piece of the café art home with you by

browsing their stock of purchasable art. They are

printed on special blocks, ready to hang. There is

no need to hurry while making your mind as you can

spend a whole day in Melon sitting at the table with

coffee and cake. As well as the pictures, huge photo

albums are also available (some for sale, some only

to look through). The owners of the cafe run a photo

gallery in the building.

DE Ein gemütliches Cafe und ein Laden mit Fotos

in einem. Hier können Fotos gekauft werden, die

zu Dekorationszwecken bestimmt sind: sie sind

auf speziellen Blöcken aufgedruckt, die man direkt

aufhängen kann. Man muss sich nicht beeilen, bei

Kaffee und Kuchen kann man im Cafe Melon einen

ganzen Tag verbringen. Außer den Fotos selbst

fi ndet man hier auch Fotoalben – teils zum Verkauf

bestimmt, teils nur zum Durchblättern gedacht. Die

PL Od ponad dwóch lat przy ul. Inżynierskiej działa Cafe Melon, kameralna kawiarnia

i sklep ze zdjęciami w jednym. Do kupienia są tu fotografi e przeznaczone do dekoracji

wnętrz nadrukowane na specjalne, gotowe do powieszenia klocki. Nie trzeba spieszyć

się z wyborem. Przy kawie, jednej z dużego wyboru herbat i ciastku można spędzić

w Melonie cały dzień. Tym bardziej, że oprócz samych zdjęć, dostępne są także

albumy (część na sprzedaż, część tylko do przejrzenia). Właściciele kawiarni prowa-

dzą w tej samej kamienicy galerię fotografi i, więc jeśli wasz apetyt na zdjęcia wzrośnie

w miarę jedzenia, możecie zafundować sobie jeszcze dokładkę. Kilka razy w roku we

wnętrzu Melona odbywają się targi rękodzielnicze „Cuda Wianki”, natomiast w pracow-

ni obok organizowane są warsztaty ceramiczne.

EN Set up and owned by the Oki Doki (see p. 070)

not enjoy hotels for years, preferring a disobliging

atmosphere of hostel dormitories. However, since

their daughter was born they have chosen a ‘higher’

standard. Following the success of the Oki Doki, the

fi rst art hostel in Poland brought an idea of opening

DE Die Gründer und Inhaber sind die gleichen wie

die des berühmten Hostels Oki Doki (siehe S. 070).

Diese erfahrenen Globetrotter vermieden jahrelang

Hotels. Nach der Geburt ihrer Tochter wurden sie zu

einem höheren Standard „verurteilt“. Der Erfolg des

Oki Doki – des ersten Art Hostels in Polen, brachte

sie auf die Idee, auch in Warschau ein Art Hostel

zu gründen. In dem Am Plac Zamkowy gelegenen

Castle Inn gibt es zwanzig Zimmer von hohem

Standard und genauso viele Originalideen für ihre

Inneneinrichtung. Und noch eine freundliche und

ausgelassene Atmosphäre dazu.

PL Siostrzane miejsce słynnego Oki Doki (patrz str. 070). Ma tych samych pomysłodaw-

ców i właścicieli. Ci zaprawieni w bojach globtroterzy przez lata nie przepadali za hotela-

mi. Znacznie bardziej odpowiadała im niezobowiązująca atmosfera hostelowych dormito-

riów. Od kiedy jednak urodziła im się córka, byli „skazani” na wyższy standard. Sukces Oki

Doki, pierwszego w Polsce art hostelu, podsunął im pomysł, aby stworzyć w Warszawie

również art hotel. W położonym przy Placu Zamkowym Castle Inn są dwadzieścia dwa

pokoje o wysokim standardzie i tyle samo oryginalnych pomysłów na wystrój wnętrz. Do

tego przyjazna i swobodna atmosfera, w której jest coś z ducha Oki Doki.

Oki Doki (voir page 070), selon la même idée. Ces

voyageurs expérimentés n’aimaient ni les hôtels, ni

l’atmosphère désagréable des dortoirs des hostels.

Cependant depuis la naissance de leur fi lle, ils se

sont «voués» à un plus haut standard. Le succès

d’Oki Doki, le premier «art hostel» en Pologne, leur

a donné l’idée, de créer à Varsovie un autre hôtel du

même genre. Dans Castle Inn situé près de la Plac

Zamkowy, il y a vingt-deux chambres de haut stan-

dard et autant d’idées originales pour l’aménage-

ment des intérieurs. À cela s’ajoute une atmosphère

amicale et libre.

PL Za fasadą zniszczonej w czasie wojny królewskiej ujeżdżalni w Wilanowie,

w latach 60. stanął modernistyczny pawilon. Otwarto w nim pierwsze na świecie

Muzeum Plakatu, które dziś ma w swoich zbiorach blisko 55 tysięcy prac. To dzieła

najważniejszych artystów sztuki światowej, takich jak Warhol, Picasso czy Miro.

Ale najbardziej imponująca jest krajowa kolekcja: nie ma w historii plakatu polskie-

go nurtu ani twórcy, którego zabrakłoby w tutejszych magazynach. Co dwa lata

muzeum gości słynne Międzynarodowe Biennale Plakatu. Najbliższe odbędzie się

w roku 2010.

FR Ouvert dans les années 60. le Musée de

l’Affi che de Wilanów, était le premier dans le

monde. Dans sa collection on compte presque

cinquante-cinq mille travaux, parmi lesquels des

oeuvres des principaux artistes de l’art mon-

dial, comme Warhol, Picasso ou Miro. Mais la

plus imposante est la collection polonaise: il n’y

a dans l’histoire de l’affi che polonaise ni courant

ni créateur. Tous les deux ans le musée accueille

la célèbre Biennale International de l’Affi che. La

prochaine aura lieu en 2010.

ES Abierto en los años 60, el museo de carteles

en Wilanów fue el primer museo de este tipo en

el mundo. Tiene más de 55 mil obras. Son obras

de los artistas más conocidos del mundo como

Warhol, Picasso, Miro. La colección de Polonia

es también impresionante: el museo tiene obras

de cada artista polaco signifi cante. Cada dos

años se organiza también la exposición Biennale

Internacional de Carteles. La próxima será en el

2010.

EN The Poster Museum opened in the 60s in

Wilanów was the fi rst museum of this type in the

world. It has almost 55 thousand works in its

collections. These are masterpieces by the most

important world artists such as Warhol, Picasso

or Miro. But the most impressive collection is the

national one: there is no single trend or artist in

the Polish poster history whose works could not

be found in this collection. Each two years the

museum hosts the International Poster Biennale.

Next one will be in 2010.

Sammlungen umfassen fast 55 000 Arbeiten.

Dazu gehören die Werke der wichtigsten Künst-

ler der Kunstgeschichte, wie Warhol, Picasso

nische Kollektion: in den Museumslagerräumen

sind alle Kunstrichtungen und Künstler vertreten.

PL O dizajnie wnętrza nie ma nawet co mówić, chyba że za dizajn przewrotnie

uznamy jego brak. W salach dla palących nadymione jak za czasów francuskiej

nowej fali. W części, gdzie z papierosem nie jesteś mile widziany, jest ciemnawo,

bo małe okienka wpuszczają do środka niewiele światła. A jednak Plan B ma

w sobie coś elektryzującego. To jedyny pełen życia lokal przy placu Zbawiciela i je-

den z najbardziej obleganych klubów w całej okolicy. Miejsce bez zadęcia, poszu-

kujące, zaangażowane w wiele niezależnych miejskich inicjatyw, przyjazne scenie

alternatywnej. Żeby się od niego uzależnić, wystarczy trafi ć tu w dowolny weekend

wieczorem.

EN There is nothing to say about the interior’s

design, unless we recognize its lack as a specifi c

type of design. In rooms for smokers there is so

much smoke as if it were the French new wave. In

a non-smoking section it is rather dark since small

windows do not let much light inside. However Plan

B is electrifying in some way. It is the only place on

Plac Zbawiciela fi lled with energy and one of the

most popular clubs in this area. Plan B is not snob-

bish, instead it is engaged in many independent city

initiatives. It promotes the alternative scene. Visitng

Plan B on a weekends evening would be enough to

become addicted to this place.

DE Das Raumdesign ist nicht der Rede wert, es

sei denn, wir betrachten fehlendes Design eben

als Design. In den Sälen für Raucher ist es dunkel,

wie in den Zeiten der „französischen Neuen Welle“.

In dem Clubteil, wo Raucher gar nicht erwünscht

sind, ist es auch dunkel, weil kleine Fenster nur

wenig Licht hereinlassen. Der Plan B hat aber etwas

Elektrisierendes an sich. Er ist das einzige mit Leben

pulsierende Lokal am Plac Zbawiciela und einer der

beliebtesten Clubs in der Gegend. Ein unscheinbarer

Ort, sehr in viele unabhängige städtische Initiativen

engagiert, freundlich zur alternativen Szene. Um

davon abhängig zu werden, braucht man nur einmal

an einem Wochenendabend vorbeizukommen.

FR Il n’y a rien à dire sur le design de l’intérieur à

moins qu’on considère son absence comme étant le

design. Dans les salles pour fumeurs, il a autant de

fumée qu’au temps de la nouvelle vague française.

Dans la partie non fumeur, il fait brunâtre, car les

petits soupiraux laissent entrer à l’intérieur peu de

lumière. Or le Plan B a en soi quelque chose de

galvanisant. C’est l’unique local vivant près de la

Plac Zbawiciela et l’un des clubs les plus «assiégés»

dans tous les environs. L’endroit est sans prétention,

engagée dans beaucoup d’initiatives indépendantes

municipales, ami de la scène alternative. Pour en

devenir dépendant, il suffi ra d’y venir nimporte quel

week-end dans la soirée .

ES No vamos a hablar sobre su diseño, porque

simplemente no lo tiene. Las salas para fumadores

están llenas de humo y las salas donde no se puede

fumar están muy oscuras (tienen ventallas muy

pequeñas que dejan entrar poca luz). Sin embargo

el club tiene algo que atrae. Es el único club en la

Plac Zbawiciela que siempre está lleno de vida.

Es un sitio amistoso a la cultura independiente y

a nuevas iniciativas. Para sentir su adicción, pase

cualquier día.

EN In the basement of a tenement house on the

corner of Nowy Świat and Świętokrzyska Streets you

can feel a smell of dust coming from paper covers of

thousands of black records. Boxes with vinyl records

are everywhere but you can also buy second-hand CDs

here. The fame of this place crosses the borders of

Poland and it happens that rockmen from abroad rush

here after their concerts and together with other clients

rummage in boxes searching for rarities. Attention: each

holidays Muzant moves to Gdańsk for three weeks, for

a St.Dominic’s Fair.

DE Im Kellergeschoß des Wohnhauses Ecke Nowy

Świat und Świętokrzyska misch sich der Geruch von

Staub mit der Luft. Staub aus zehntausenden Hüllen mit

pechschwarzen Schallplatten. Die Kartons mit Vinylplat-

ten stehen überall herum, gebrauchte CDs können aber

ebenfalls gekauft werden. Der Ruhm dieses Ortes reicht

weit über die Grenzen Polens hinaus. Es kommt oft vor,

dass ausländische Rocker nach ihren Konzerten in War-

schau zu diesem Antiquariat im Herzen der Stadt eilen

und zusammen mit anderen Kunden in den Kartons auf

der Suche nach einem weißen Raben herumwühlen.

Anmerkung: immer in den Sommerferien wandert der

Muzant für drei Wochen nach Gdańsk zum traditionellen

Dominikaner Markt .

PL W suterenie kamienicy na rogu Nowego Światu i Świętokrzyskiej unosi się zapach

kurzu. Kurzu z papierowych okładek kilkunastu tysięcy czarnych płyt. Pudła z winyla-

mi zajmują każdy wolny kawałek przestrzeni, choć można tu kupić także używane CD.

Muzant był świadkiem kilku historycznych zdarzeń. Kiedy w latach 90. zespół Dżem grał

w Warszawie swój ostatni koncert, rozdawał autografy właśnie w Muzancie. Na schodach

i w podwórku stały wtedy tłumy fanów. Zdarza się, że i zagraniczne gwiazdy rocka, wie-

Dominikański. Warszawski lokal jest wtedy zamknięty, a fani tego miejsca niepocieszeni.

mille disques-vyniles. Les caisses de disques occupent

frontières de la Pologne. Il arrive que des musiciens de

rock étrangers après leur concert à Varsovie, courent

dans ce magasin d’antiquités du centre ville et coude

ocupan cada espacio libre, aunque también se pueden

comprar aquí cds usados. El sitio es también conocido

fuera de Polonia. A veces artistas de rock, después de

sus conciertos van a Muzant y junto con otros clientes

buscan verdaderas perlas de la música. Ojo: Muzant se

traslada en las vacaciones por tres semanas a Gdańsk,

PL Warszawa raczej nie może pochwalić się rozbudowaną siecią ścieżek rowero-

wych. Istnieją jednak w naszym mieście trasy – np. ta wzdłuż brzegu Wisły – oblegane

przez prawdziwe tłumy, szczególnie w cieplejszych miesiącach roku. Kto nie posiada

własnych dwóch kółek lub jest w stolicy tylko przejazdem może kupić lub wypożyczyć

rower w Speedzie na Powiślu. Do wyboru stare używane „holendry”, nowiutkie rowery

miejskie, a dla zwolenników jazdy ekstremalnej znajdą się rowery górskie. Właściciel

sklepu i wypożyczalni to utytułowany zawodnik downhillowy, który służy profesjonalną

radą, a także zapleczem, gdzie działa warsztat rowerowy. Speed ma charakter sezono-

wy. Zimą w tym samym miejscu można wypożyczyć lub kupić snowboardy.

de son réseau de pistes cyclables. Il y a cependant

quelques pistes – par exemple le long de la Vistule

– «assiégée» par les foules, notamment pendant les

mois les plus chauds. Si tu veux rejoindre ces foules, tu

peux acheter ou louer un vélo chez Speed à Powiśle.

Au choix des «hollendes» d’occasion, des bicyclettes

municipales neuves et des VTT sont a disposition. Le

propriétaire du magasin et de la location est le concur-

rent atitré de downhill, qui sert de conseil professionnel,

et aussi d’atelier de réparation. Speed mène une activité

saisonnière. En hiver dans le même endroit on peut

louer ou acheter un snowboard.

ES Varsovia no tiene una red de pistas para bicicletas

muy desarrollada. Sin embargo tiene pistas muy buenas

a lo largo del río, siempre llenas en verano. Si te quieres

juntar a los ciclistas, puede alquilar una bicicleta en la

calle Powiśle. En Speed tienen mucha variedad, empe-

zando por las de estilo antiguo, hasta modernas para

ciudades o montañas. El propietario de la tienda es un

deportista con medallas de downhill (cueta abajo), que

muchas veces sirve con sus consejos. Speed se ajusta

a las temporadas, en el invierno se pueden comprar

o alquilar snowbord aquí.

EN Warsaw cannot boast a well developed network

of bicycle lanes. However some of them – for example

the most picturesque one along the Vistula bank – are

usually crowded, especially during warmer months of

the year. If you want to join the bikers, you can rent or

buy a bicycle in nearby Speed in Powiśle district. There

you have a large selection of bikes, from stylish “Dutch

bikes” to new city bikes and mountain bikes. The owner

of the shop is an awarded downhill competitor. He can

always give you a professional advice. Speed is a sea-

sonal shop. In winter you can buy or rent a snowboard

at the same place.

DE Warschau kann auf ein weites Netz von Fahrradwe-

gen eher nicht vorweisen. Einige Fahrradwege existieren

aber doch – wie bspw. der entlang der Weichsel, der

besonders in den warmen Monaten, gerne befahren

wird. Möchten Sie sich dieser Menschenmasse an-

schließen, dann können Sie sich entweder ein Fahrrad

kaufen oder bei Speed im Stadtteil Powiśle auslei-

hen. Zur Wahl stehen stilvolle „Holländer“, nagelneue

Stadtfahrräder oder auch Mountainbikes. Der Inhaber ist

ein bekannter Downhill-Sportler, der hnen mit Rat und

Tat zur Seite steht und Ihnen seine Fahrradwerkstatt

zur Verfügung steht. Speed ist saisonbedingt tätig. Im

Winter kann man sich hier ein Snowboard ausleihen

oder kaufen.

oder der Różycki-Basar weisen eine

sächlich Lebensmittel an. Die Basars

„Na Kole“ und „Olimpia“ – beliebte

Flohmärkte – haben ihren alten Reiz

beibehalten.

Varsovie ont une histoire legendaire,

mais aujourd’hui ils sont comme des

milliers d autres en Pologne et offrent

marchés aux puces traditionnels, ont

gardé leur charme d antan.
