Warsaw Biblical GardensBixler ParkMay 15 - September 15, Dawn to Dusk

The Bible’s story begins with a garden and ends with a vision of trees bearing fruit. The Warsaw Biblical Gardens, situated on approximately 3/4 acre, currently contains over 100 plants that are named in the Bible. A diversity of climates can be found in the Holy Land, which allows for most of its plants to be grown somewhere in the United States.

For more information, contact the WCDC at (574) 267-6419.

The Gardens of Central ParkNortheast End of Central ParkOpen April - October

The Gardens of Central Park are the culmination of Robert and Roma Maish’s dream to create a perennial garden for Kosciusko County and its visitors. Made possible through an endowment fund established by the Maishes through the Kosciusko County Community Foundation, the Gardens contain over 160 perennial flowers, shrubs, and grasses. The facility is ADA accessible and offers a variety of blossoms, colors, and a fish pond.

For more information, contact the Kosciusko County Community Foundation at (574) 267-1901.

Bicycle-Pedestrian Master PlanYou may have heard about an exciting new movement in town called Ride-Walk Warsaw-Winona Lake. The goal is to make Warsaw and Winona Lake a bicycle and pedestrian friendly area for residents and visitors. Not only does riding your bike or walking save at the pump, but it is a great way to improve your health and well-being!

The Indiana State Department of Health awarded a $50,000 grant to implement a Bicycle Pedestrian Master Plan for our area. Master Plan work will begin in the Spring and continue throughout 2012. There will be several opportunities for community input, and we want YOU to get involved! Whether you’re a daily rider or walker, or you simply wish you had more opportunities to do so, your feedback will be valuable.

Look for information throughout the year about surveys, public workshops, and more. We look forward to you joining us in achieving this exciting and important goal.
