sign-up on VolunteerSpot: http://vols.pt/rUQYZo

like.

account or keep a password on VolunteerSpot.

Collection underway!

Please keep clipping and gathering your box tops for

CNMS. Each box top is worth 10 cents for our school and

they add up quickly!

During the last book fair, Ms. Pearson could not keep

The Zodiac Legacy on the shelf. This is fantastic oppor-

tunity for those of you that purchased the first book at our

last book fair to get a hard-covered copy of this new re-

lease at a special price ($16.99).

We will pre-sell this book beginning next week, Monday,

February 1 through Monday, February 15. Please find

the attachment on this newsletter, fill it out, and send it in

with the payment of $16.99 to Ms. Pearson in the library

before Monday, Feb. 15. Please make checks to Scho-

lastic Books.

Challenge Time! If we can pre-sell 40 copies or more,

one student will receive their copy for FREE!

Pre-Order

The Zodiac Legacy: The Dragon’s

Return (Book 2 of the series)

Beginning Monday, February 1 through Friday, February

19, library helpers will be collecting $.50 donations for

All For One Books during lunch periods.

For your donation, you will be entered into a drawing for

the following prizes: books, a $5 gift certificate for the

book fair, posters, groovy sunglasses, a groovy tie dyed

t-shirts, and much more! The items to be given away are

on display in the library.

The best part is that your donation will help students

unable to buy books at the book fair have a book.

Science Fair

Thursday, February 11

We would like to thank Nooshin at Zoup! for serving the

judges and volunteers a hot meal for lunch! Successful

events are achieved by the generosity of our wonderful

families. The PTO, judges, and volunteers appreciate your

support.

Challenger Learning Center

Last week marked the 30th anniversary for the Chal-

lenger Space Shuttle disaster where seven astronauts

lost their lives. An educator, Christa McAuliffe, was one

of the astronauts aboard the shuttle. According to the

Challenger Center, “…the crew’s families came togeth-

er, firmly committed to the belief that they must carry on

the spirit of their loved ones by continuing the Challeng-

er crew’s educational mission. Their efforts resulted in

the creation of Challenger Center for Space Education.”

Last year, the 5th and 6th grade EXCEL students trav-

eled to the Challenger Learning Center in Paducah,

Kentucky. Students submitted mission patches to repre-

sent their space-themed simulation, “Return to the

Moon.” Throughout the year, the center collects the

patches and chooses 12 to publish on their annual cal-

endar. Sravani Ravipati’s patch was chosen and was

placed in the center’s 2016 calendar for the month of

September. Congratulations, Sravani!
