SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) students participated in a social marketing campaign

called “Sticker Shock” today to address underage drinking issues in Warrensburg.

Students decorated bottles and boxes of alcohol with stickers that asked adults not to purchase alcohol for

anyone under the age of 21. This underage drinking campaign is to create awareness on the legal and health con-

sequences associated with underage drinking and to deter people from providing alcohol to minors.

Thank you to all the students who participated and Stewart's for welcoming us.

Rob McAvoy from the "You Are Not Alone" Family Support Group, visited with the Junior National

Honor Society today to explain the mission of the group. The first Thursday of the month, they mail care pack-

ages to 22 soldiers serving overseas. Their goal is to let them know they are not alone and that they are sup-

ported and cared about. Junior National Honor Society members raised money during spirit week to purchase

items to donate for the care packages.

Thank you to everyone who serves in the military. Both past and present. Your sacrifice and the sacri-

fices of your family are very appreciated! #youarenotalone

The Warrensburg Sr. Art Club participated in the 31st Annual Festival of Trees. Designers from all over the Capital Region created magical displays. Gingerbread houses, stockings, centerpieces, wreaths, fireplace mantel displays, and, of course, trees in several sizes were displayed and sold at the Queensbury Hotel. All proceeds go to support the Center for Disabilities which helps a variety of local organizations serving our community. Sr. Art Club members worked tirelessly on this year's tree submission titled "Mischief Managed." The tree's theme was inspired by J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series. Students recreated iconic images from the books and movies in the form of ornaments. From howlers to gold snitches and even an appearance of Ronald Weasley's pet rat scabbers. The Art Club worked hard to recreate the fantasy and lore of the Harry Potter series.

Time is flying by! Students have made it through the first quarter with report cards being issued in November. Several parent/teacher conferences have been held, and if you would like to set one up, please contact the Guidance Office and we will be happy to do so for you. Upcoming Events: SAT Exam December 7th ACT Exam December 14th SENIORS: The application process should be well under way by now! Be mindful of application deadlines and remember...the earlier the better! Make sure that you have all of the “pieces” of the application complete prior to submitting it. Feel free to stop down to the Guidance Office for assistance. JUNIORS: PSAT Scores should be arriving soon. Once we have them, Mrs. Landers will be meet-ing with each student individually to go over their results as well as helping them create a College Board account. SOPHOMORES: All 10th grade students will be taking the Pre-ACT exam with interest inventory on Thursday December 5th. 7th and 8th GRADE: Now that we are into the second quarter, it is a good time to reflect on the study habits that have formed since the start of school. If needed, now is a great time to change things up and possibly focus on positive habits that will help you succeed in the class-room. Using your agenda daily and advocating for yourself with teachers by asking for help when needed are also useful habits. Make sure your ASP is being used wisely—it’s a great opportunity to ask clarifying questions of your teachers! REMINDER TO ALL: The Homework Club is up and running Mondays–Thursdays from 3 pm – 4 pm.
