W.A.D.A est une Organisation non gouvernementale (ONG) – (statut légal n°81/AD-Ministère de l’Intérieur – 08/02/1994).Le centre de W.A.D.A dédié au développement durable est situé dans le village de Deir el Ahmar - Békaa - Liban.W.A.D.A œuvre à la promotion de sa région grâce à l’initiative bé-névole portée par Dunia El Khoury et les femmes membres. W.A.D.A. fut lauréat du prix international : Contribution des femmes dans le développement rural durable : Dubai International Award for Best Practices to improve the living environment - 2002. Prix accordé par les Nations Unies, UN Habitat et la municipalité de Dubaï, pour des initiatives exemplaires au niveau international.

W.A.D.A. is based in the center dedicated to sustainable de-velopment in the village of Deir el Ahmar – Bekaa – lebanon-W.A.D.A promotes its region through the volunteer initiative led by Dunia el khoury and the women members.W.A.D.A has been awarded “Dubai international Award for Best Practices to improve the living environment – 2002 - its initiative is titled : “ Women’s contribution in sustainable rural development” this award is granted by the United nations, Un habitat and the municipality of Dubai for outstanding initiatives at an in-ternational level.

Le centre de Deir el Ahmar accueille des séminaires et des formations. C’est aussi le lieu de préparation de l’artisanat de la région et de la production de la mouné (la préservation des produits alimentaires de façon naturelle et traditionnelle).La cuisine du centre est un atelier de cuisine où les femmes de la communauté locale préparent les plats typiques de la région. Cette cuisine assure un service traiteur à domicile. De plus, le centre se développe en aire de camping au service de l’éco-tourisme, de l’agrotourisme et du tourisme rural et religieux.

W.A.D.A center in Deir el Ahmar hosts seminars and trainings.it is also a venue dedicated to the preparation of regional craft and the production of the mouneh (natural and traditional food preserve).the kitchen of the center is a workshop where women of the local community prepare regional dishes. they also have a catering service.moreover, the center can also turn into a camping area for ecotourism, agrotourism, rural and religious tourism.

Le village de Deir el Ahmar est situé au nord est de la plaine de la Békaa, à 1000m d’altitude, à une distance de 100 kms de la capitale Beyrouth, à 15 kms de Baalbek. Deir El Ahmar est aussi sur le chemin « Via Appia » qui relie la ville de Baalbek à l’ancienne ville de Byblos (70 kms de Byblos en passant par Afka et Akoura).De même, Deir El Ahmar se trouve sur le chemin qui relie Baalbek aux Cèdres. Il est à 40 kms, vers le nord, de l’ancestrale forêt des Cèdres du Liban, au dessus de Becharré. Deir el Ahmar est au carrefour de civilisations, à la croisée des héritages phéniciens, romains et grecs.

Deir el Ahmar est au centre d’une région très riche culturellement.L’environnement naturel est riche. Il jouit d’une biodiversité unique avec des sources d’eau et une terre fertile. Mais la ré-gion souffre du manque de perspectives poussant la jeunesse à émigrer. La désertification est un facteur aggravant pour le secteur agricole dans une région entièrement dédiée au travail de la terre.

the village of Deir el Ahmar is located in the north-east part of the Bekaa valley, at 1000 meters of altitude, at a distance of 100 kms from the capital Beirut and 15 kms from Baalbek. Deir el Ahmar is on the roman route “Via Appia” that connects Baalbek to the ancient city of Byblos (70 kms away from Byblos through Afka and Akoura). Deir el Ahmar is also on the way between Baalbek and the cedars. it is situated at 40 kms, in the north, of the ancestral cedars forest of lebanon, above Bécharré. Deir el Ahmar is at crossroads of civilizations, in-between Phoenician, roman and greek heritage.

DEIR EL AHMAR is at the heart of a rich cultural regionthe natural environment is rich. it enjoys a unique biodiversity with water springs and a fertile land. never-theless, the region suffers from a lack of opportunities pushing out youth to emigrate. Desertification is an aggravating factor for the farming sector in a region solely dedicated to the land labor.

تقع بلدة دير االحمر شمال شرق سهل البقاع ، على إرتفاع 1000 م عن سطح البحر و على مسافة نحو 100 كيلومتر من العاصمة بيروت و 15 كلم من مدينة بعلبك.

كما تقع على الطريق الروماية “فيا آبيا” التي تصل مدينة بعلبك بمدينة جبيل القديمة ) 70 كلم من جبيل مرورا بأفقا والعاقورة (.و على الطريق التي تصل بعلبك بمنطقة األرز في بلدة بشري على مسافة 40 كيلومترا شماال حيث ترتفع في هذه المنطقة أعلى قمم جبل لبنان و

الشرق األوسط : القرنة السوداء )3083 كلم ( ومنطقة عيون أرغش . شكلت المنطقة موطنا لحضارات عديدة منها الفينيقية واليونانية والرومانيةتركت ثروات وآثار لم يتم اكتشافها بعد .

تقع بلدة دير االحمر في منطقة غنية جدا من الناحية الثقافية.كما البيئة الطبيعية فالتنوع البيولوجي فريد من نوعه يناواألراضي خصبة وينابيع المياه غزيرة .

ولكن المنطقة تعاني من عدم وجود فرص عمل مما يدفع الشباب الى الهجرة. كما ان التصحر يهدد قطاع الزراعة وهو أهم دعائم االقتصاد في هذه المنطقة .

L’écotourisme dans la région permet :> la préservation de la biodiversité et la spécificité de la région de Deir el Ahmar. > de respecter la diversité culturelle de cette région de la Békaa.> de générer des revenus à travers les activités culturelles et en ouvrant des maisons d’hôtes essentiellement à Deir el Ahmar.

Agro-tourisme dans la région de Deir El Ahmar / les fermes Bio W.A.D.A propose des visites dans les fermes bio de la région.A quelques encablures du centre W.A.D.A, dans les villages de Mazraet El sayed et Mazraet Beit Matar se trouvent deux fermes bio où les agriculteurs chevronnés entretiennent leurs vergers.Au menu, visite du domaine, traite des chèvres, ramassage des œufs, déjeuner rural et cueillette des fruits du verger et des légumes.

AgrotoUrism in the region of Deir el AhmAr / orgAnic fArms W.A.D.A organizes tours in organic farms in the region.A few miles away from the W.A.D.A center, in both villages of mazraet el sayed and mazraet Beit matar, there are twoorganic farms where seasoned farmers plant and pick what they have sowed in their organic orchards.the journey starts with a farm visit, goat milking, eggs collecting, fruit and vegetable picking and enjoying a rural lunch.

في إطار تطوير السياحة الزراعية تنسق الجمعية زيارات إنطالقا من مركزها إلى مزارع تعتمد الزراعات العضوية في المنطقة.

وهي على بعد أميال قليلة وتقع في قرى مزرعة السيد ومزرعة بيت مطر .

يشارك الزائر خالل الزيارة للمزرعة في حلب الماعز، جمع البيض الطازج ، قطف الفاكهة والخضار تناول وجبة فطور بلدية.

Dans son programme global de préservation de la région, W.A.D.A a pris l’initiative d’encourager les habitants à réhabiliter une habitation délaissée ou de réaménager leur espace de vie pour accueillir des visiteurs chez eux. W.A.D.A assure la formation des familles accueillantes, surtout des femmes et des guides locaux. Ainsi en quelques années, les habitants ont pris l’initiative en main et réhabilité plusieurs maisons qui accueillent des autochtones ou des étrangers dans un cadre humain et authentique.

in its global program for the preservation of the region, W.A.D.A is encouraging locals who own a house to restore it and open it to guests.W.A.D.A ensures training to guesthouse owners, especially to women and local guides. hence, in a few years, locals have embraced the challenge and restored many houses that host visitors from abroad or natives in a human and authentic surrounding.

Dans la cuisine établie dans son centre, W.A.D.A préserve le terroir culinaire régional dans le but de:> mettre en valeur et transmettre les traditions culinaires pour éviter la disparition de recettes d’autrefois et préserver le patrimoineculinaire de la région : au menu : maakroun bi toum (pâtes à l’ail) ou kaak el-Eid (biscuit sec préparé durant Pâques).> faire découvrir et apprécier aux visiteurs des plats préparés au centre W.A.D.A par les femmes de la communauté.De même, une dégustation de vins préparés localement par les vignes qui poussent sur les coteaux ensoleillés de la région est régulièrement organisée.

in the kitchen of the center, W.A.D.A safeguards the culinary regional heritage aiming at> enhance and pass on down culinary traditions to avoid the loss of old recipes and to preserve the culinary heritage of the region. the menu is: maakroun bi toum (garlic pasta) or kaak el-eid (easter biscuit).> to introduce local dishes to visitors who will enjoy them at the center prepared by the women of the community.A wine tasting of local wineries is often organized.

المحلي .< كما تنظم رحالت على درب الكروم و يتم تذوق النبيذ المصنوع محليا.

Nous avons un large éventail de produits fabriqués à partir de fruits, légumes, céréales et produits laitiers de la région.> confiture : abricot, figue, raisin, potiron, pomme, fraises> sirop : mûres, abricot, roses.> vinaigre : raisin et pomme.> en saumure : aubergines et haricots verts conservés avec de l’huile d’olive, des noix et de l’ail, légumes divers en saumure.> distillé : arak, eau de fleur d’oranger, eau de roses.> céréales : friké (blé vert fumé), pois chiche, lentilles, blé, blé concassé (bourgoul).> pains et biscuits : pain tannour ou saj, kaak el-Eid.> produits laitiers : Kichk, chanklish, labné.

Une gamme de ces produits est certifiée bio par Libancert L’huile de Carthame WADA se distingue par la production de l’Huile de Carthame. Cette huile extra vierge, extraite par pression a froid des graines de la fleur de carthame, plante cultivées en agriculture biologique par les agriculteurs dans les plaines de Deir El Ahmar.

the organic range of these products is certified organic by libancert. Safflower oilW.A.D.A boasts the production of safflower oil. this extra virgin oil, cold pressed, by extracts of safflower seeds, a plant that grow organically and is picked by local farmers from Deir el Ahmar.

Départ du centre WADA en passant par Deir El Ahmar - Mrah El Wadi - Bechwat - Barka - Mrah El Aouja - Qeddam - Nabha – Nombreuses églises et couvents ainsi que des lieux de prière et de retraite spirituelle et des célébrations religieuses.
