Exalted Ruler’s Message First of all, I want to wish ev-

eryone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

As you can well imagine, the month of December is always busy here at the lodge.

We start off on Friday, De-cember 3rd, as the officers and several members head to the lodge and decorate for Christ-mas. What we don’t get done on Friday evening, we finish up on Saturday morning.

We also have the Memorial Service on Sunday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. Please plan on joining us for this service. It is our chance to once again honor our departed members. On Wednesday, December 8th we have our Veterans Appreciation dinner. If you are a veteran, make sure you call and make your res-ervation for this dinner. It is free of charge for you and your spouse, and we will serve a full turkey din-ner.

The following weekend we will have a chance to watch our kids and grandkids meet Santa and enjoy fun projects. On the 18th we will have our Charity Ball, so come down and enjoy some appetizers and good company. We also have our bell ringing so if you have a bit of spare time, come sign up to ring the bells.

There will be no lodge meeting on Thursday, De-cember 23rd and the facility will close at 7:00 p.m. on Friday December 24th and will open again on Mon-day the 27th. This little break should give some of our hard-working members and staff a little extra time to spend with their families this holiday season.

We have added a prime rib dinner and casino night on New Year’s Eve, so come ring in the new year with us! Don’t forget to come down and visit our veteran’s Christmas tree and pick up a present for one of them.

Western Night was a success again this year. I would like to thank everyone that helped setup, serve and tear down. These functions take a lot of hard

New Year’s Eve Party/ Casino Night

Bell RingersOn Saturday December 18th, from 10AM-6PM the Caldwell

ELKS bell ringers will be ringing the bells for the Caldwell Salva-tion Army. We will be at the Walmart store, on Cleveland blvd, both doors. There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board between the entrance and the office doors. Please get your name and cell phone number along with your partners name and number down on the list ASAP.

For those of you who would prefer to make a donation via a check made out to the Caldwell Salvation Army, mailed to the Caldwell ELKS lodge, P.O.Box 458, Caldwell, ID 83606, please mail it to or drop it off at the lodge before the 18th. See the ELKS BELL RINGING CONTRIBUTION FORM below.

This is just one of the ways that the greatest ELKS lodge in the great and mighty state of Idaho helps those less fortunate than us.

Remember, Elks Care-Elks ShareFraternity yours,2021 Bell Ringing Chairman Ted Faubel

ELKS BELL RINGING CONTRIBUTION FORM I would like to support the Salvation Army during the Holiday Season by contributing to the cause through the December 18, 2021 Elks Bell Ringing Campaign

Enclosed is my check in the amount of $____________

Please make check payable to Caldwell Salvation Army and mail to the Caldwell Elks Lodge #1448, PO Box 458, Caldwell ID 83606. All checks should be mailed by December 18th to ensure the contribution will be credited to the Elks Bell Ringing Campaign.

Of course, all contributions are welcome at any time.

This year we have decided to celebrate New Year’s Eve a bit differently. Instead of just having a party in the social quarters, we have decided to have a prime rib dinner and casino night. The cost is $30 per person and it includes the prime rib dinner, a glass of champagne and $25 in gambling chips.

As with all of our casino nights your chips can be turned in for tickets. Those tickets will be used for prize drawings. Please RSVP by December 27th so we can order enough food for everyone.

Knight’s Corner

From the Station of Brotherly Love

Howdy from the Station of Justice.

As we finish with the duties of the fall season and move into the holiday season, we have the opportunity to spread the giving spirit.

A big thank you goes out to all that have attended and supported the events here at the lodge. Western Night was enjoyed by all.

As Elks we care and strive to share with those in need. Please join us at the Walmart on Cleveland Saturday, December 18th and ring the bell for the Salvation Army. With the donations to the “red kettle”, they help so many in the community. The time you spend volunteering is greatly appreciated. Also, watch for the Veterans Christmas tree down at the lodge and choose a name from the tree. This is a good opportunity to fulfill a wish for someone in need. This is a simple way to give back to those that are less fortunate.

In closing, enjoy the time with your family and friends during this holiday season. I wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Fraternally yours,Sam PowellLoyal Knight

From the Station of Justice

We just finished a very busy November, starting with the Winter Convention in Rupert, ID. We cel-ebrated Veterans Day with our traditional Veterans Day Ceremony at the Caldwell Veterans Memorial Hall. That led us into everyone’s favorite event “West-ern Night”, which was a complete success.

We had over 250 guests enjoying wonderful ri-beye steaks cooked by our own Idaho State Elks As-sociation President Chuck Roberts, George Wolfkiel, and Darrell Moser. Plus everyone got to enjoy and dance to the music of one of our local bands “Free Style”.

I want to “Thank” everyone who attended, or helped out in any capacity for the success of this event. “Thanksgiving Day”, found us home with family and friends to enjoy some much needed “time off ”. Then we go marching smartly into the month of December, which brings Christmas, and New Year’s celebrations.

Before the Christmas holidays, we will be holding our annual Memorial Service on December 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM here at the lodge. This is to honor our brothers and sisters who have passed since our last memorial service. Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day is on December 7th, and on December 8th we will be hosting our annual Veteran’s Appreciation Dinner.

That day we will serve turkey dinner with all the fixings to our Veteran’s, community Police and Fire (First Responders) personnel and their spouses. There will be a children’s Christmas Party held at the lodge on December 12, and the Charity Ball on De-cember 18, 2021. Then we will celebrate the Christ-mas and New Year’s holidays with family and friends.

If you are traveling for the holidays, please be safe. If you are not traveling, please join us at the lodge for some of the fun scheduled events.

December BirthdaysI would like to remind everyone that our fiscal

year ends on March 31, 2022. With that said, Grand Lodge has increased their assessment by $5.00, so our dues will be $100 for the upcoming year.

That breaks down as $24.00 Grand Lodge Assess-ments, $5.50 State Assessments, and lodge dues of $70.50. Each year on April 1, we are responsible for paying the GL assessment for every member still on the roster, whether they drop their membership on April 2nd or later.

So please, while we hope to keep each and every one of you as a member, if you are going to drop your membership, please do so before the end of March, otherwise the lodge has to pay for your outside as-sessments.

If you are still on the delinquent list, please send in your dues as soon as possible so you won’t be dropped from our roster.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at 208-454-1448.
