Hello Delta Upsilon Alumni,
My name is Devin Johnston and I have been elected as
Alumni and Parent Relations Chair for 2015. I’m a sec-
ond year Computer Science
major from Villa Rica, Geor-
gia, and I look forward to
representing the DU under-
graduates for you over the
next year. This issue will
include a selection of re-
ports from new chapter of-
ficers, an update on our
newest initiates and pledg-
es, and a preview of the
2015 St. Baldrick’s event.
Last but not least, be sure to
check out the flashback sec-
tion on the last page to learn about the results of our
effort to digitize our extensive backlog of Delta Upsilon
photographs.

President’s Report DU Alumni,
I'm incredibly excited and honored to have
been elected President of our chapter for the
next year. I believe that the fraternity is poised
to make huge breakthroughs on campus and I
hope to instigate change that will allow this to
happen. The Executive Committee that I will be
working with is incredibly hard working, talent-
ed, and experienced. With their help I hope that
the fraternity will
be able to exter-
nalize a lot of the
great movements
DU has made in
the past few
years.
I look forward to
continuing the
Homecoming
alumni event and
pushing other events that re-connect under-
graduates with alumni. I hope we can do well
in Greek Week, intramurals, and push our cur-
rent philanthropic endeavors to involve organi-
zations throughout Georgia Tech’s campus.
This next year should be successful and reward-
ing for everyone involved.

New Officer Reports
My name is Jon Cordova and I am proud to say that I
am the new Vice President of Member Education. This
year, my plan is
to keep a diligent
working relation-
ship with the
Member Educa-
tion Committee
in order to im-
prove our events,
increase on cam-
pus presence,
and strengthen
brotherhood throughout the chapter. I have the privi-
lege of working with a fantastic Member Education
Committee this year and am very optimistic that we
will accomplish a great deal.

My name is Zach Slaney and I am a 5th year Psychology
and Finance double major. I joined DU in the fall of
2010 and it has been an exciting adventure since the
first day. My goals for this position are for at least one
intramural team to make the playoff per phase (4 phas-
es), win TUG for the second consecutive year, and most
importantly, win Greek Week. With a good level of
preparation and an all around great motivation to suc-
ceed, I think we have an excellent chance.

New Officer Reports
As the new Campus Relations Chair, I have made it
my goal to build up our presence on campus. First, I
want to get more brothers
involved in campus organ-
izations. Every brother
has something he is pas-
sionate about, and I am
confident that every one
of us can find a campus
organization that can aug-
ment that passion. Sec-
ondly, I hope to build our
relations as a whole with other fraternities, sorori-
ties, and organizations on campus. This will make it
much easier to hold events with the organizations
and thus expand our outreach. All in all, I aim to en-
sure that more people on campus know just how
great Delta Upsilon is.

My name is Robby Guthrie. I am a second year Com-
puter Science and Applied Math major from Bowling
Green, KY. I am excited to be Scholarship Develop-
ment Chair this coming
year, especially since we
have been so successful ac-
ademically recently (our
brotherhood GPA was an
impressive 3.34 in the fall).
I hope to promote more
academic activity outside of
classes and grades, for in-
stance, pushing younger
brothers to go on study
abroad programs that push them out of their com-
fort zones (like language immersion programs) or to
get involved in research..

Spring 2015 Pledge Class Following a very successful Spring rush period, we have
recruited seven new associate members that we believe
have the potential to be excellent members of Delta
Upsilon:
Caelan Radford
Sai Naidu
Zachary Broderick
Matthew Wallace
Andres Filmer
Karim Badawy

St. Baldrick’s Preview My name is Stephen Haley and I am the new Philan-
thropy Chair for DU. This spring, we will once again
be raising money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.
For those that are not familiar with St. Baldrick’s, it is
an organization that raises money for the fight
against childhood cancer. All those who volunteer for
the organization collect donations from friends and
family in exchange for a pledge to shave their heads
in a show of solidarity with children affected by can-
cer. Last year, we did very well, raising about
$12,000, coming in third overall out of the fraterni-
ties at Tech. This year, however, I believe we can do
even better. To do that though, we will need your
support. Our team page is located at https://
www.stbaldricks.org/teams/gtdu2015. Any amount
will go a long way. If you have any questions, contact
me at [email protected].
Campus Involvement Update Recently, there has been a surge of DU involvement
in high places on campus. Several brothers have po-
sitions with IFC, Georgia Tech’s Interfraternity Coun-
cil: Matt Naugle is Vice President of Recruitment, and
Ryan Burke holds the position of Social Chair. In ad-
dition, brothers Jon Cordova and Brian Swanson
hold positions in TEAM Buzz (Director of Projects
and Director of Finance, respectively), a group that
hosts an annual day of service for the city of Atlanta
that draws a lot of participation from the Georgia
Tech student body.

Flashback In Fall 2013, in an effort to better preserve the history
of the Georgia Tech chapter of DU, the brotherhood
commenced an effort to scan our extensive collection of
photographs into an online photo drive. Here I have
included a few of the photos from this new drive. If you
