Is America hating Jesus and abandoning God?-Part 1
We are the greatest nation that everyone looks up to for
inspiration and help. God gave us our freedom and moral
principles, yet they are being eroded by our government. In
the name of progress and tolerance, God's law has been
overturned and rearranged by the government and media.
The family is being attacked; same-sex marriage, the
legalized killing of the unborn, little girls having to open
their locker rooms, bathrooms and showers to grown
men, religious institutions forced to pay for abortions
for employees, all in the name of progress, tolerance, civil
rights, reproductive health, gender ideology,
anti-discrimination and multiculturalism. The Cross and
Ten Commandments are being removed from public display
in government buildings, yet a statue of Satan with children
is permitted to be displayed. And if we don't cave in and
conform to their paganism we are threatened with fines and
imprisonment. What is happening in America and the world
today can be summed up in Isaiah 5; 20; "Woe to those who
call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and
light for darkness, and who put bitter for sweet and sweet
for bitter."
Calling evil good. That sums us up. A few decades ago
a church-going believing American who supported the right
to life from cradle to grave, backed laws protecting
marriage and the family, and spoke freely of Jesus Christ
was considered an upstanding citizen. Now he/she is
considered an intolerant bigot! Even our Armed Forces
who fought and fight for our freedom are being persecuted
for their faith. Chaplains have been disciplined and
discharged for doing their duties. God cannot be mentioned
any more at military funerals. On March 31, retired Army
General Jerry Boykin a founding member of Delta Force
was to be the guest speaker at a soldier's prayer breakfast
commemorating D-Day. He was to speak about the
importance of faith to the soldier. Atheist Michael
Weinstein demanded that Gen. Boykin be removed, and the
prayer breakfast was rescheduled and Gen. Boykin was not
invited back as a speaker.
At the National Prayer Breakfast that took place on May
17th in Washington D C, the guest speaker Cardinal Robert
Sarah, Prefect of the Congregation for Divine Worship said;
"Today we are witnessing the next stage and confirmation
of efforts to build a utopian paradise on earth without God.
It is the stage of denying sin and the fall altogether. But the
death of God results in the burial of good, beauty, love, and
truth. Good becomes evil, beauty is ugly, love becomes the
satisfaction of primordial sexual instincts, and truths are all
relative. So all manner of immorality is not only accepted
and tolerated today in advance societies, but even promoted
as a social good. The result is hostility to Christians, and
increasingly, religious persecution. Nowhere is religious
persecution clearer in the threat that societies are visiting
on the family through a demonic 'gender ideology'…"

visible through the self-giving of parents,

Мабуть, якби вибирати ключові слова, що наймісткіше передавали сенс усього Євангелія, серед перших ми б мали пригадати і слова, котрі пролунали з уст Ісуса у сьогоднішньому євангельському читанні: “Нехай станеться вам згідно з вашою вірою!” (Мт. 9:29). Що таке Євангеліє? Це - Добра Новина про спасіння. Це - Блага звістка, з якою Христос приходить до всього людства. Він приходить, щоб усім нам, осліплим духовно, відкрити очі. Але за нами самими Він залишає вибір: чи ми розплющимо очі на реальний світ – чи ж зостанемося такими, якими були, – недалекоглядними, засліпленими амбіціями, зануреними у власні життєві турботи? Чи схочемо ми помічати Божу всюдиприсутність у світі, помічати Творця, Який стоїть за всім цим? Христос допомагає нам. Він готовий відкрити нам очі. Але Він не зробить цього проти нашої волі! І нам станеться не так, як Він хоче – бо Бог хотів би, щоб усі ми спаслися, – а як ми самі забажаємо. Христос допомагає нам у спасінні, Він відкриває нам дорогу в майбутнє, Він готовий вести нас, – але не штовхає нас туди. Божий Син і Спаситель світу, з величезною делікатністю ставлячись до особистости кожного з нас, залишає нам вирішувати: йти з Ним чи не йти.
7 правил чистоти
1. "Чистота рук". Не брати зайвого. Тут також мається на увазі десята частина доходів, яку слід віддати тим, хто її потребує. 2. "Чистота вух". Не слухати людей наляканих, озлоблених, метушливих і т.д., а також захистити свій слух від лихослів'я, пліток і порожніх розмов. 3. "Чистота очей". Берегти очі від ненависті, від злості, від заздрості і жадань. 4. "Чистота рота". Берегти свій рот від зайвого багатослів'я і лихослів'я. "Мовчання – золото". 5. "Чистота тіла і одягу". Тримати тіло і одяг в чистоті. 6. "Чистота думок". Прибрати з голови негативні думки і лихі думки, не проявляти до себе жалості. Навіщо жаліти себе? Чи не краще підбадьорити себе за світлі починання? 7. "Чистота душі і серця". Берегти і охороняти свої душевні пориви і не ігнорувати їх. Любіть і не вимагайте нічого натомість. Любов вже сама по собі щастя.
10 перешкод молитви
Знаємо, що в молитві найважливішою є витривалість,
яку щоби здобути – треба часу. На дорозі молитви ми є
завжди учнями, бо не знаємо, як треба молитись; для того
постійно починаємо наново, звичайно, з допомогою
Святого Духа. То Він є правдивим Майстром молитви,
тому добре є завжди запросити Його на початку молитви.
Подібно також Дух приходить з поміччю до нашої
слабкості. Коли не вміємо молитися так, як треба, сам Дух
причиняється за нами в благаннях, яких не можемо
виразити словами. Той, хто проникає серця, знає, що
причиняється зі святими згідно з Божою волею. Знаємо,

makes love visible in our generation. It makes present the
perfect charity of the Trinity. Man is nothing woman,

of the Trinity, has the capacity to be united with other
persons in communion through the bond of charity-the

Св. Павло регулярно закликав перших християн до
витривалості у молитві, до постійної зустрічі з Богом.
Коротко кажучи, до того, щоб молилися в ритм подиху,
щоб ціле їхнє життя стало молитвою.
Не йдеться тут звичайно про витривалість через цілий
день в молитовному зосередженні, але про бажання
безустанної молитви, про життя, яке прагне молитви, яке
кожну хвилину перемінює у зустріч з Богом. Св. Августин
писав: «Саме твоє бажання є вже молитвою». Що означає
для християнина неустанна молитва? Чи це не є глибоке
прагнення наслідування Ісуса, бажання віддання Отцю
нашого життя і сповнення його волі?
Єдиною річчю, яка може нам допомогти у
витривалості в молитві, є жар покірної і відданої любові,
яка покладає всю надію на Бога. Коли направду Його
любимо – будемо молитися. Коли Бог є щастям нашого
життя, то з поміччю сильної віри, великої надії і глибокої
любові звершимо за молитву правдиву битву. Сама
молитва є битвою, яка ведеться цілий час.
1. Не можу молитися Завжди можеш молитися, навіть, коли не зможеш
цілий час зосередитися на внутрішній увазі. Молитва,
подібно як любов, є вибором, рішенням, актом волі. Будь
перед Богом так довго, як то собі запланував. Коли маєш
бажання молитися, то означає, що ти вже молишся.
Здається тобі, що говориш даремно? Що можеш знати на
цю тему? Бог дуже прагне, щоб ти до Нього говорив, але
ще більше хоче, щоб ти Його слухав. Слово Боже є при
тобі, щоб ти над ним думав і щоб ним ти кормився.
Не шукай в молитві чуттєвого задоволення; ти є тут
для Бога, для того, що Бог є Богом. Молитва не служить
нічому іншому поза зустріччю з Богом у повній любові
відношеннях. Не сподівайся, що отримаєш чогось
надзвичайного або відчуєш якогось враження; Бог тут є – і
це вистачить. Христос воскрес і дає тобі свого Духа, щоб
твоя молитва подобалася Отцю. Маєш молитися в
очікуванні на прихід Господа, бути витривалим на посту
твого відокремлення. У молитві важливим є сталість
прагнення, збіг нашої волі з тим, чого Бог від нас хоче.
2. Тут є заголосно
Часами скаржимося, мовлячи: «я б молився краще,
коли б мав більше спокою, міг би сховатись в якомусь
тихому місці, бути далеко звідси». Молися там, де ти є,
тим, хто ти є. Добре було б створити умови, які сприяють
молитві, але для тебе є найліпша та молитва, яку сьогодні
можеш створити. Коли ти молишся, Бог дає тобі молитву,
якої потребуєш. Це питання віри і довіри.
Можеш собі створити ідеальні умови, а так і так
знайдуться якісь перешкоди, як втома, розпорошеність,
лінивство, брак віри. Можеш все покинути, але не
покинеш самого себе і своїх думок. Важливо є, щоб молитися далі, вдивлятися в Ісуса більш інтенсивніше ніж
в самого себе і говорити з Ним як з приятелем. Молитва є
з’єднанням з Богом як в галасі, так і в тиші. А ця тиша є
більше внутрішньою ніж зовнішньою; є дотиком до
таємниці Бога, так само як у вагонах метро і як в

Summer Dress Code
With Summer days upon us, the tendency to cool and casual attire is understandable but, attire at Sunday Divine Liturgy should always reflect our dignity as Christian people. Courtesy to the Lord and our fellow worshipers that adult attire, particularly should reflect good taste and modesty. We the clergy and staff would like to wish everyone a peaceful, restful happy and safe summer. Remember there is no vacation from God.
