Відзначаючи День Незалежності України
ми оспівуємо і величаємо Божу Матір – Діву

Це свято особливо дороге нам – бо знаємо,
що маємо могутню заступницю перед Богом,
що бачить наші потреби, чує наші зітхання
і завжди готова допогти нам, підтримати, потішити

Вона є перша спадкоємниця божествених
дарувань і перша роздавальниця тих дарунків
і благословінь людям, що шукають допомоги

наша - захорони нас від усякого зла – покрий
нас чесним Своїм oмофором.

під Покров Божої Матері, бо вона радість усіх
скорботних, наша Небесна Мати, що простирає
свій покров, заступе і спасе та помилує всіх нас.
Під Твою милість прибігаємо, Богородице Діво
молитвами нашими в скорботах не погорди, але
від бід визволи нас, єдина чиста і благословенна.

Why not Reincarnation?
It can be proven that God exists, Jesus is God and
that Jesus founded the Catholic Church. The Catholic
Church gave us the Bible. The Bible is true because it is
God's word and He cannot lie. The Bible states clearly in
Hebrews 9:27 that 'it is appointed for men to die once'.
Therefore, since the concept of reincarnation necessitates
more than one death, it necessarily contradicts the divinely
revealed Word of God which is infallible, so, there can be
no reincarnation after death.
Is there anything in logic to say reincarnation is not
true?
Reincarnation is either true or it is not true. It cannot be
that for one person it is true and for another it is false.
Reincarnation cannot be and not be at the same time. Since
the true Church of Jesus Christ on Earth (the Catholic
Church) teaches that reincarnation does not happen, this
truth cannot only be effective for Catholics. From the
Catechism of the Catholic Church we read - 'When the
single course of our earthly life is completed, we shall not
return to other earthly lives' (CCC 1013). This teaching
applies to everyone, even to those people who mistakenly
believe in reincarnation.
Could you expand more on the Biblical teaching against
reincarnation?
The immortality of the individual soul is a truth of
Christian Faith, it is clearly taught in Scripture. The
Bible clearly teaches that righteous people will never
suffer torment because they have a confident hope of
immortality, and that the wicked will suffer (Cont. on pg. 3)

in a fire that never goes out (Wis 3:1-4; Lk 3:17). Since
Hebrews 9: 27 confirms the fact that we only die once, our
individual immortal souls cannot reincarnate.
What is so dangerous about belief in reincarnation?
The supposed evidence for reincarnation, rememberings
from past lives that come out under "past life regression"
can be explained â€" if they truly occur at all â€" as mental
telepathy from other living beings, or from demons. The
real possibility of the latter should make us seriously
reconsider the alleged harmlessness of opening our souls to
"past life regressions". In nearly all cases of "past life
regressions" the memories are from history books, stories,
novels and films.
What of a morally upright believer in reincarnation
who denies Hell and demons?
If one takes for granted the fact that one must take
morality very seriously, then one can argue that the
theory of reincarnation is not as morally serious as the
theory that the human soul inhabits only one body. In the
latter case, man has only one life to live. Therefore, he must
do it right the first time. If people have many different lives
to lead, then they can play around a lot more and be a lot
more experimental about how they will conduct themselves
morally.
Does the Church have anything else to say about
reincarnation?
Belief in resurrection and official Church rejection of
the preexistence of souls (see DS 403, 854, 1440) rule out
reincarnation. By maintaining an indefinite series of
chances, reincarnation reduces the seriousness of God's
grace and human liberty exercised in one life that is
terminated by a once-and-for-all death (1 Cor 15:20-28;
2 Cor 5:10).
Just because lots of people believe something to be true
does not make it true. Reincarnation cannot account for
itself; if it is the just punishment for evils we committed in
past reincarnations then why were those past reincarnations
necessary? The beginning of the process that justly
imprisoned our souls in bodies in the first place must have
occurred before the series of our reincarnations began. But
how could this be, since belief in reincarnation, unlike
Christianity, offers no doctrine of original sin? The 2
essential points of Christianity (sin & salvation) are both
missing in the religions of the East. But "original sin is the
only rational solution of the undeniable fact of the deep,
universal and early manifested sinfulness of men in all ages,
of every class, and in every part of the world". (Charles

What's so immoral about reincarnation?
Reincarnation entails a very low view of the body,
as a prison and a punishment. Reincarnation is inextricably
linked to the caste system with its discriminatory,
demeaning and degrading view of human dignity, therefore,
reincarnation cannot be true and cannot be moral.
How exactly does reincarnation contradict the
Christian view of the soul?

Хай ніколи не переможе нас егоїзм, амбіції чи байдужість. Навчи нас, Господи, що радість свободи приносить також і відповідальність служіння. Тому дай нам бажання шанувати закони нашої країни, служити своїм співгромадянам на тій посаді, на яку Божим Провидінням будемо послані. Благослови, Боже, всіх, хто при владі. Дай їм мудрості та вірності на їхніх посадах. Оберігай їх, щоб вони не впали жертвами себелюбних груп, і дай їм бажання служити інтересам громадськості. Дай тривалого миру нашій країні та її закладам, щоб Твоє Євангеліє могло без перепон повернути серця всіх від ярма гріха до свободи, здобутої дорогоцінною кров’ю нашого Спасителя Ісуса Христа. Котрий з Тобою живе і царює на віки вічні. Амінь.
Свята Літургія (5) Найголовнішою дією святої Літургії є жертва Христа під видом хліба і вина. Тоді престол у Церкві стається Голгофою і таїнственно відновлюється жертва Ісусової смерті. Побожний християнин повинен пригадати собі страшні страждання Спасителя на хресті, Його останні слова, уявити собі, як падали з хреста краплі Його Пресвятої Крові та подумати, що - усе це сталося також і за його гріхи. Служба Божа продовжує наше відкуплення, обновлює нашу душу заслугами Христових мук. За словами святого Павла, всі ми становимо з Христом одне тіло, один живий організм, головою якого є Ісус Христос. Це тіло сучасні богослови називають Містичним Тілом Христа (невидиме, надприродне, духовне тіло), в яке лучаться всі християни після прийняття святого Причастя. Серцем Містичного Тіла називають Матір Божу Марію. Святий Василій Великий кличе вірних до щоденного св. Причастя, згадуючи слова Христа: "Хто їсть Моє Тіло і п'є Мою Кров, той матиме життя вічне". На сході відправляються Божественні Літургії свт. Василія Великого чи Івана Золотоустого, а на заході меса Папи Григорія (Двоєслова). У східних церквах хрестяться трьома пальцями правої руки тричі, щоб возвеличували Пресвяту Трійцю, а в західних - п'ятірнею один раз, щоб віддати честь п'яти ранам розп'ятого Хреста. У протестантських домах молитви не прийнято хреститись. На Божественних Літургіях свт. Василія Великого чи Івана Золотоустого на сході здебільшого стоять, співають хором і вклякають на коліна, а на заході на месі Папи (prod. na stor. 3) (Cont. on pg. 4)

Григорія (Двоєслова) сидять, вклякають на коліні, грають органи. Служба Божа - це не тільки молитва, але й жертва, прояв Божої любові. Тому з найбільшою покорою, увагою й побожністю слухаймо Службу Божу, з вірою і любов'ю підносім своє серце до Христа, який перебуває на престолі. Свята Літургія (6) Свята Літургія розглядається з точки зору Богуслужіння та Богослужіння, бо не тільки ми служимо Богу, але й Бог служить нам. Щоденні Богослужіння складаються з: вечірні, повечір'я, полуношниці, утрені, І, Ш, УІ й ІХ часів, які відповідають годинам: 6, 9, 12, 15.
Церква протягом кожного тижня відзначає у святій Літургії в наступному порядку таких святих: - в понеділок ангелів і св. Архистратига Михаїла - у вівторок св. Івана Хрестителя - в середу Діву Марію - в четвер св. Миколая Чудотворця і 12 Апостолів - в п'ятницю Ісуса Христа - в суботу всіх святих - в неділю воскресіння Христове
В літургійному році Церкви є поділ святих на бдінних, полієлейних і безполієлейних. Бдінні святі - це такі, в честь яких встановлені найбільші свята церковного року, наприклад, Предтеча Господній Іван Хреститель, верховні апостоли Петро і Павло , Дмитро мироточець, Архистратиг Михаїл, Миколай Чудотворець, Василій Великий. В честь цих святих проводяться всеночні чування (бдіння), відправляється литія, де проводиться благословення хлібів, пшениці, вина і єлею, що розташовані знаком хреста. Полієлейні святі - це такі, в честь яких співається пісня похвали на святій Літургії і запалюється багато свічок та є багато єлею, милосердя, завдяки молитвам до них. Прикладом таких святих є: Володимир Великий - хреститель України, княгиня Ольга, Антоній і Феодосій Печерські, мученики Борис і Гліб, преподобний Харитон - ісповідник, преподобний Сава Освященний, великомученик Пантелеймон - лікар. Безполієлейні святі - це такі, в честь яких не твориться окремий празник і не співається полієлей та не читається ранішніх величань, як, наприклад, святі Парасковея, Косма і Даміян, 12 Апостолів, Собор Івана Хрестителя. На кожній святій Літургії є присутній живий Ісус Христос, Який навчав і творив чуда. Він є Той, що здійснює жертву і Той, що Сам є жертвою. Він є Той, що навчає і Той, що Сам є Споконвічним Словом – Логосом: "Споконвіку було Слово, і з Богом було Слово, і Слово було - Бог" (Ів.1.1). Ісуса Христа можна зустріти у святій Літургії в п'яти різних видах: в особі священика (священик – другий Христос);у Пресвятій Євхаристії;у святих Тайнах;у Божому слові;в церковній спільноті. Молитва і свята Літургія духовно і морально збагачує кожного християнина та спричиняється до морального вдосконалення і духовного очищення людини. Автор: Олег Огірко
Because of the adaptation of the soul to its matter,
reincarnation in a series of bodies is impossible, for this
would mean that souls are equally apt for many different
bodies. But each soul is suited to the material it informs and
animates, and from the union results a unique person.
Are there any other conceptual problems with
reincarnation?
Reincarnation blurs the meaning of what a human
person actually is. Reincarnation distorts the true nature of
the human person. Believers in reincarnation cannot answer
the question of human personhood. Consider a person
alleged to have reincarnated; would the person have been
himself or someone else, or partly himself and partly
someone else? Of course, either alternative is illogical.
A human person is a Unique individual being with a
spiritual soul and a material body. Heaven is our true
destiny, but the choice is ours.
Just a Reminder
Our church renovations started on Monday July 11th. Thanks to the O.L.P.H. Sodality’s hard work, they were able to raise $44,000 for this renovation via rummage sales and fundraisers. The new tiled floor has been com-
pleted. Installation of new kneeler pads and seat cushions will be completed in the coming month. Therefore, parts of the church will be under construction.

We are accepting items at this time,
except mattresses, large old TV’s, magazines, encyclope-
dias, large hutches or large wall units.
As always to make it a success, we will need help from
anyone who would like to volunteer. We can’t do this
alone anymore, since most of our ladies are getting older.
We will need help setting up starting Sunday Oct. 9th.
A volunteer sign-up sheet with be placed in the bulletin
at a later date.
