Volume Licensing Service Center

Improved administrative management and streamlined registration and permission management offer flexibility and self-service

Microsoft® is dedicated to helping our partners and customers access and manage purchased software and services licenses. We received partner and customer feedback and created a single portal to manage all Volume Licensing agreements and IDs, download product keys, and access to Software Assurance benefits.

To accomplish this new experience, Microsoft recently upgradedthe Volume Licensing Service Center (VLSC) at https://www.microsoft.com/licensing/servicecenter so customers and partners can now manage, administer and deploy software and service licenses and benefits from one convenient location.

Visit http://www.microsoft.com/licensing/existing-customers/manage-my-agreements.aspx#tab=2 to learn about the unique features and benefits, and receive regular updates.

What’s New?

Many of the enhancements to VLSC are intended to increase security and mitigate privacy concerns. Here are the 3 things you need to knowin order to easily access the site:

- The customer’s valid business email address, as listed on the Volume License Agreement or Open License order, is required and must be associated with a Windows Live ID.

- First time users will be asked to validate theirbusiness email using an invitation email from [email protected]. The business email must be the same as listed on the Volume Licensing agreement or Open order. If this email address does not match what was listed on the Volume Licensing Agreement or Open order, permissions for that Licensing Agreement or Open Order will not be automatically assigned.

- The primary administrator must assign permissions or administrator rights to their resellers orto others within their organization before they are able to access licensing information.

Scenarios

Following are 11 scenarios you or your customer may encounter and how you can help guide them to get support.

As part of the new system integration, Microsoft is increasing security to mitigate privacy and anti-piracy concerns.

An important new change is that users are required to have a Windows Live ID and a valid business email address. The valid business email address may be different from your Live ID and must match the email address provided on your Volume License agreement or Open License order. By providing a valid business email address and linking it with a Windows Live ID during the registration process, Microsoft will be able to provide users with instant access to historic and future Volume License agreements and Open License orders upon sign in.

A user’s valid business email is located on the order or agreement form and will be displayed on the “My Permissions” page on VLSC for future reference.

If you are the administrator and receive an error, please verify that the business email address entered on your signed Volume Licensing Agreement matches the email address being used to register on the site. If the email address is accurate and you still don’t have permission, then please go to Help in VLSC and click Contact Us to access contact details for your regional support center.
