Our services include Basic Adult Education, High School Equivalency test preparation, WorkKeys® and Career Readiness Certification preparation, community education enrichment classes, WWCC academic advising, UW academic advising, financial aid advising, placement testing, proctored testing, career testing, and a 9 unit computer lab with full internet access all under one roof. The first section of this spring schedule includes information for registering for spring college classes with Western Wyoming Community College through distance education. The second section lists the many exciting and interesting Community Education classes offered for spring. The last section explains our College and Career Readiness services. Substitute TeachingBecome a substitute teacher with your high school diploma (or GED) and this class. This class is designed to prepare students to become substitute teachers. It will cover the use and application of lesson plans, elements of instruction, emergency plans, classroom organization and behavior management skills. Traditional JujutsuDanzan Ryu Jujitsu traces its roots all the way to the samurai. Students will learn an art that teaches self-defense as a by-product, not violence. From the first day of learning customs and courtesies to then learning rolls, falls, and escapes from holds then moving to throwing, ground work and striking, with a strong emphasis on safety. Students learn to protect themselves and become physically fit. Healing arts, anatomy, physiology and massage balance out the curriculum. This class is a good way to become more physically fit and mentally challenged with increases seen in self-esteem, positive attitude, and growth in character.

Everyone 16 years and older is welcome. Younger students are accepted with instructor permission. Family discount! Two family members get to take $10 off each registration. KarateTang Soo Do is a traditional Korean style of Karate that stresses the development of character as well as physical fitness and improvement. The course is designed to develop the fundamental techniques of blocking, punching, striking and kicking. Proper form, balance, coordination and control are achieved through the repetition of basic techniques, stances, conditioning exercises and the practice of kata (formal exercises which combine basic karate techniques) as well as coordinated three-step sparring with a partner. Our purpose is to introduce students to a comprehensive program which incorporates the techniques and principles of traditional Karate and other martial arts in a noncompetitive group environment. The emphasis is on self-development and cooperation rather than on competition. Training in traditional marital arts provides both physical and mental development which leads to the balanced growth of the student’s body and mind. This training also enriches the students’ lives by giving them an understanding of certain martial values and virtues. Age 6 years old and up. ALL STUDENTS MUST PAY A ONE-TIME ANNUAL $25 MEMBERSHIP FEE to the American Jujutsu Institute for liability purposes. This once annual fee is good from January through December and is due to the instructor at your first class.

Public Health Events-Blood Draw is April 7, 8, and 9, 2016, at Clifford-Olguin Dental Care. These blood screenings are provided at minimal cost and include many testing options such as full blood chemistry profile and bone density testing. You must fast for 12 hours before the blood draw.-Health Fair is April 30, 2016 at Lyman High School. At the Health Fair you can pick-up your Blood Draw test results. Adult Basic Education SkillsFreeValley Learning Center Classes in reading, writing, and math are available to those individuals who want to obtain a High School Equivalency Certificate or improve their basic skills. These are individualized studies of English Grammar, Writing Skills and Math Skills. It covers grammar, punctuation, basic writing skills, basics of math, algebra and geometry. This is a great class to prepare you for college, helping your children, or just improve your writing and math ability. Small classes and individualized instruction allow for personal attention in order to meet the student’s schedule and specific needs. Computerized instruction, individual tutoring and an open study lab are available during the day and evening. The Center administers the HSEC tests at regularly scheduled times.

This class will start at your level and work you up to where you want to be. Individualized instruction allow for personal attention in order to meet student’s schedule and specific needs. This will also give you preparation for college math classes and the college placement testing.
