KarateTang Soo Do is a traditional Korean style of Karate that stresses the development of character as well as physical fitness and improvement. The course is designed to develop the fundamental techniques of blocking, punching, striking and kicking. Proper form, balance, coordination and control are achieved through the repetition of basic techniques, stances, conditioning exercises and the practice of kata (formal exercises which combine basic karate techniques) as well as coordinated three-step sparring with a partner. Our purpose is to introduce students to a comprehensive program which incorporates the techniques and principles of traditional Karate and other martial arts in a noncompetitive group environment. The emphasis is on self-development and cooperation rather than on competition. Training in traditional marital arts provides both physical and mental development which leads to the balanced growth of the student’s body and mind. This training also enriches the students’ lives by giving them an understanding of certain martial values and virtues. Age 6 years old and up. ALL STUDENTS MUST PAY A ONE-TIME ANNUAL $25 MEMBERSHIP FEE to the American Jujutsu Institute for liability purposes. This once annual fee is good from January through December and is due to the instructor at your first class.
