For more than 30 years, Vital Records (VRI) has been a fixture in data centers throughout the northeastern United States. We continue to be a leader in the industry as the region’s largest secure underground provider of off-site data protection and disaster recovery services. Our customer support spans across the Northeast and Mid -Atlantic regions, with two sites in New Jersey protecting more than 6 million data backup tapes for more than 2,500 data center clients.

Over the past 30 years, VRI has supported over 6,000 Disaster Recovery tests, and currently performs more than 20 million tape transactions per year. We continue to count many of the largest companies in the world as customers—some have been with us for 15, 20 or even 25 years. We own, operate, and are the sole occupants of two high security underground facilities, each originally designed and constructed specifically as Disaster Recovery sites. Both sites are operationally staffed with qualified VRI personnel at all times, 24 x7x 365.

VRI views our business as Disaster Recovery support, not “storage.” We support all of our clients’ needs with the dual goals of providing a consistently high level of normal day-to-day service and assuring a timely and accurate response in the face of a data center disaster.

Over the years, you may have seen the VRI’s fleet of climate controlled, secure, GPS-monitored vehicles providing on-site support to our customers throughout the Mid-Atlantic and New England regions. The quality of our services and our core values originated from a management team that has been in place for over 20 years. VRI is fully committed to continuing our leadership position in the traditional tape vaulting business. We also recognize that backup and recovery methodologies continue to evolve. We’re proud to introduce a new suite of VRI services that will fall under the newly created Vital Records Solution Partner Program. These services will enable VRI to continue to support your needs in a variety of new ways; all with the goal of giving you enhanced capabilities in the related areas of Off-site Backup, Data Restoration and Disaster Recovery Services.
