huk Swindon once said: “The
Clonger I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life.” Attitude
is more important than fact; it is more important than the past, education, money, circumstance, failure, success, what other people think or say or do, appearances, giftedness or skill.
We cannot change our past, nor can we change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We can hardly change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is to play on the one string we have; and that is our attitude. Great leaders understand that a right attitude sets the right atmosphere which brings out right responses from others. Life is ten percent of what happens to one and ninety percent of how one reacts to it. We are, therefore, the custodian of our attitude.
It is a fact that, in our work place, there are different types of workers. As a matter of fact, there are three categories of workers: good, bad and mediocre. In order to be a worker of substance, a winning worker, one should cultivate a winning attitude. A winner is one who thinks that he is a winner because winning is an attitude of the mind; it is in the mind.
A winner is not a loser, hence the need to cultivate a winning attitude through the following ways: (1) Think like a winner; don't underrate yourself; develop a high self esteem (2) Talk like a winner. (3) Behave like a winner (4) Avoid the company of losers. Don't do things that will make you lose. May God empower you to cultivate a winning attitude now and always, in Jesus Name.

Rev Dr H. O. Okereafor, the Chaplain of Bowen University, Iwo, has urged all the prospective
students of the University to study and show themselves approved of the Lord. Rev Dr Okereafor stated this during the screening exercise for new students for the 2016/2017 academic session, in Iwo, on the 16th of July, 2016.
Rev Okereafor said that the need to study is natural for a progress- minded person. He added that, in Bowen University, we believe in studying and having the best. Therefore, prospective students must study, so that God would be happy with them, and approve of them. He charged them to see whichever course of study they were offered as an act of God because he is the only one who knows tomorrow . He told them that Godliness is the watchword of Bowen University, and added that the prospective students should be ready to be identified with the children of God, especially through service in His vineyard, here in the University.
He charged parents not to relent in praying for their children. He assured them that Bowen would raise their children in the way of God, which would lead to excellence in their professional callings in future.
Earlier on, the Chairman of the screening exercise, Professor J. A. Adegoke, told the gathering that the exercise was going on simultaneously in eight (8) centres across Nigeria. He asked the prospective students to show the panel their credentials and answer any other questions that the screening panel deemed necessary to ask them.
