HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR AND SKILLED WORKER TRAINING PROGRAMSThe Dexter Institute is a private career college that provides opportunities to be trained for specific jobs within Dexter Construction and the Municipal Group of Companies. Successful applicants will be taught in a wide range of areas within the Heavy Civil Construction Industry. Training will take the form of classroom instruction, hands-on instruction, and work / project placement.

Prospective students must visit dexterinstitute.com and apply online. Tuition for successful applicants is $8000. Graduating students are eligible for an annual retention bonus over the first three years of employment with the Municipal Group of Companies.

A selection committee will review the applications and select individuals based upon business needs, area(s) of interest, and qualifications / experience.

Participants will be notified if they are selected for the program. We will also contact unsuccessful applicants to let them know the status of their application.

Communications Computer Fundamentals, Effective Communication Fundamentals of Heavy Civil Construction Understanding Productivity, Plan Reading, Construction Math & Estimating Heavy Equipment Machine Guidance & Control, Machine-specific Theory & Practical Safety & Safety Management Environmental Awareness, Small Tools - Practical

• Completed Grade 12 (or equivalent) OR Mature Student* • Proof of valid driver’s license (abstract may be required)• Must be 17 years or older by end of program• Must be able to physically perform the work for which being trained• Urinalysis drug testing will be required.* Mature Students must pass a written aptitude test.

• All applications due by November 30th. • Early applications encouraged.• Coursework will commence in February followed by a paid work term. The Program will end in September with a guaranteed offer of employment.
