Dubai, 21 September 2019 Viro, a provider of innovative material solutions for architectural and interior design, is the only Indonesian company participated in an international exhibition titled The Leisure Show 2019 in Dubai on 17-19 September 2019. Taking place at the World Trade Center Dubai, Viro constructed a booth with the "Nusantara Coasts " theme by utilizing the MAKRAME technique, a craft of knitting techniques known to be of Arabic origin and acculturated by Indonesian culture so that it became part of the traditions in several regions, especially in the coastal areas. "As a maritime country, Indonesia has a very valuable and priceless maritime wealth. In order to promote natural beauty and to introduce the cultural uniqueness of the country to the international scene, we decided to modify the concept that we previously presented at CASA Indonesia - the largest and most comprehensive exhibition for Architecture, Interior, Design, and Art this year,” said Johan Yang, Executive Vice President of PT Polymindo Permata, a company that owns the Viro brand. Representing the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Dubai , Consul General Ridwan Hassan appreciated Viro’s achievements. "Dubai is a strategic location, a melting pot for the Middle East and African countries. As the main destination for trade shows that are often held in the region, it is hoped that Viro's participation at The Leisure Show 2019 can pave the way for Indonesian local products to be widely accepted and increasingly known in the Middle East and Africa. We also appreciate the steps taken by Viro in helping to promote and to preserve the culture of the country in foreign countries represented in the form of beautiful architecture,” Hassan continued.

Viro Becomes the Only Participating Company from Indonesia

in the Leisure Exhibition in the Middle East and Africa

Viro participates at the Leisure Show 2019 in Dubai with the The Nusantara Coasts theme,

Dubai, 21 September 2019 – Viro, a provider of innovative material solutions for

architectural and interior design, is the only Indonesian company participated in an

international exhibition titled The Leisure Show 2019 in Dubai on 17-19 September 2019.

Delegation from Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Dubai visited Viro’s booth at the

Leisure Show

Categorized under the Outdoor Furniture sector, Viro collaborated with renowned interior

designer Kezia Karin from KEZIA KARIN Studio to build the "The Nusantara Coasts"

booth. The Nusantara Coasts theme is originated from the issue of single-use-plastic waste

which pose danger to Indonesia's extensive marine ecosystems. The exquisite beauty of

Indonesia’s marine wealth is manifested from Viro eco faux fibers that are tied together with

Makrame knotting technique, exposing not only its beautiful texture, but also its strong and

weather resistant ability well suited for outdoor furniture use with extreme weather in the

Middle East and African countries.

"It is an honor for Viro to represent Indonesia in The Leisure Show 2019. We hope that

through this exhibition, the international community will increasingly realize the beauty of

Indonesia’s culture and have trust in products made by Indonesia," Johan concluded. In

addition to actively participating in trade shows, Viro also established a representative office

in Dubai to continue boosting the market share in the Middle East and North Africa region

which currently contributes 25% of the company's total exports. After successfully

completing a project in Banana Island, Qatar, United Arab Emirates, the company hopes to

be involved in other leisure projects in the region as a provider of man-made architectural

materials with the look and feel of native Indonesian materials such as rattan and thatch so

that it can continue to promote the uniqueness of Indonesian culture while continuing to

innovate in finding high quality materials.

Hiburan Terbesar di Timur Tengah dan Afrika

Viro hadir di Dubai Leisure Show 2019 dengan tema “The Nusantara Coasts” dengan

Berada di dalam kategori mebel Luar Ruang, Viro bekerjasama membangun booth “The

Nusantara Coasts” bersama desainer interior ternama Kezia Karin dari KEZIA KARIN

Studio. Tema The Nusantara Coasts ini berangkat dari kepedulian Viro terhadap isu sampah

plastik sekali pakai (single-use-plastic) yang cukup mengganggu ekosistem laut Indonesia

yang sangat kaya. Keindahan bahari Indonesia ini ditampilkan dalam kerajinan simpul

Makrame dari serat-serat eco faux Viro yang tidak hanya indah, namun juga sangat kuat dan

tahan segala cuaca sehingga cocok untuk penggunaan luar ruang dengan cuaca ekstrem

seperti di kawasan Timur Tengah dan Afrika.

“Merupakan suatu kebanggaan bagi Viro untuk dapat mewakili Indonesia dalam pagelaran

The Leisure Show 2019 ini. Kami berharap melalui pagelaran ini, masyarakat internasional
