Iz Kotora ka Cetinju krenite oko podne. Idite „putem kojim se rjeđe ide“– starim putem, preko 25 serpentina sa kojih po-gled na Boku kotorsku oduzima dah. E to je tek avantura. Put koji spaja Kotor i Cetinje izgrađen je 1884. godine i bio je glavna veza Crne Gore sa svijetom.

Iz morskog stići ćete u planinski ambi-jent, na Njeguše, mjesto gdje se miješa-ju morska i planinska klima, rodno selo najznačajnije crnogorske istorijske lič-nosti, vladara i vladike Crne Gore Petra Petrovića Njegoša Drugog (1813-1851). Na Njegušima svratite i u porodični re-storan sa stogodišnjom tradicijom „Kod Pera na Bukovicu“, okrijepite se njeguš-kim pršutom i sirom, domaćim vinom i medovinom. Ako ste u dobroj kondiciji, možete se popeti na Lovćen gdje je Nje-gošev mauzolej, na 1.660 m nadmorske visine do kog vodi 461 stepenica.

Svojom snažnom peto-lučnom konstrukcijom, od koje je glav-ni luk s rasponom od 116 metara, uzdiže se nad kanjonom dubokim preko 150 metara. Ako imate dovoljno hrabrosti Taru „preletite“ preko zip line-a. To je-ste adrenalinska bomba i za najhrabrije.

Vaš put od mosta grabi uzbrdo ka Žabljaku, ka Durmitoru, najpopular-nijoj crnogorskoj planini i najvećem turističkom planinskom i ski-centru. Grad je mali, lako ćete ga sami upozna-ti, obavezno prošetajte stazom do Crnog jezera. Ukoliko planirate duži boravak, iznad grada je Durmitor sa svojim vr-hovima, a planinarska tura na Bobotov kuk (2.523-m/n) je najpopularnija. Od nekoliko skijališta Savin kuk je najveće. U Turističkoj organizaciji Žabljak, čije se prostorije nalaze u centru grada kod hotela Žabljak, dobićete sve upute, mape i savjete za obilazak planina sa vodičima.

Let your first route be Tivat / Kotor / Ce-tinje / Budva. From the airport, drive to Tivat, walk along the coast down the Pine promenade to the small marina of Kali-manj with fishing boats, feel the spirit of an authentic Mediterranean place, have breakfast at one of the luxury restaurants in the most beautiful marina in the Adria-tic – Porto Montenegro. You will be able to rest your gaze on magnificent private yachts from all over the world.

Rent a car, which is widely and cheaply available, and continue your trip towards the Old Town of Kotor, located 10 kilome-tres away from Tivat. You will experience a different kind of reality there, walking around the centuries-old piazzas and squares. The narrow streets of this town, which are under UNESCO protection, will lead you past restaurants and boutiques towards churches and museums, while you will be able to see the famous walls above them, the trademark of the town. You can walk along the walls, which will take around one hour depending on your physical fitness, offering you an unfor-gettable view.

From Kotor, head towards Cetinje around noon. Take the “road less travelled” – the

old road with over 25 serpentine bends, offering a breath-taking view of the Bay of Kotor. That is a real adventure! The road connecting Kotor and Cetinje was built in 1884, and it was Montenegro’s main link to the rest of the world.

From a seaside environment, you will arrive in a mountainous one, at the vi-llage of Njegusi, where the sea and mo-untain climates mix, the birthplace of the most important person in Montene-grin history, the ruler and Prince-Bishop of Montenegro, Petar II Petrovic Njegos (1813-1851). In Njegusi, visit a family re-staurant with a century-long tradition,

“Kod Pera na Bukovicu” and taste its Nje-gusi prosciutto and cheese, and homema-de wine and mead. If you are physically fit, you can climb Mount Lovcen, where the Njegos Museum is located at an altitude of 1,660 metres, which can be reached by climbing its 461 steps.

Continue your journey merrily towards Cetinje, the capital of Montenegrin spi-rituality and statehood (Montenegro was declared an independent country at the Congress of Berlin in 1878); a city of mu-seums, monasteries, old embassies and consulates, and home to a Royal Castle.

Taking the new road, you can reach Budva from Cetinje in 35 minutes. Take a rest in a nice hotel in Budva, and expe-rience the nightlife of this city. Apart from its beautiful beaches, Budva is famous for its excellent restaurants and rich nightli-fe – it is the city offering the best enterta-inment in the Adriatic.

DAY1SCENE ONE

When you see this place, which has ac-commodated world-famous celebrities such as Sophia Loren and many other members of the international jet set, where the number-one tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, got married, you will understand why the rich and famous decided to come here.

Your trip continues towards Bar, the largest coastal town in Montenegro and the largest port. Walk along the shore, take a rest and look at the palm trees, the open sea and the ships arriving and leaving. After leaving the town, there is a turn towards the Old Town of Bar. You should take the time to visit this place that preserves the spirit of old Turkish towns, paved with stone, with many traditional and authentic restaurants, and the oldest olive tree in Europe.

Continue your journey to the south, towards Ulcinj, the city of long sandy beaches. Go down to the Town Beach, located next to the Old Town of Ulcinj. Take a walk around the Old Town and listen to the guide’s story about the pi-rates and Cervantes, a prisoner of the

dungeon you are looking at. Continue towards Ada Bojana, the place where the River Bojana meets the sea. Visit one of the restaurants located along the river and you will remember that gastronomic experience. If it is summer, take a swim and enjoy the warm sand, at least for a short while.

After that, take another old road, by way of the picturesque Ostros, to Po-dgorica. Drive along the shore of Lake Skadar, the largest lake in the Balkans and, when you descend to lake level, visit the scenic little town of Virpazar.

Walk across the old bridge, look at the lake with a glass of the local wine from one of the fine taverns or, if you did not have time in Ulcinj, have lunch and ta-ste the lake cuisine – specialities inclu-de smoked, marinated or “drunk” carp, dried bleak and fish soup.

DAY2SCENE TWO

You will be in Podgorica in the evening. Get acquainted with the capital of Mon-tenegro by talking a walk through the centre, cross the River Moraca by one of the pedestrian bridges, and relax in one of the fine restaurants or pubs, which can be found on every corner.

From Podgorica, head towards Kola-sin. The mountains are waiting for you. Going through the dramatic canyon of the River Moraca – Platije, you will get tired of counting the small tu-nnels and the view on your right side to the rocky canyon and the roaring river will give you an adrenaline rush. Forty-five kilometres away from Pod-gorica, on the road to Kolasin, there is the Moraca Monastery, which will ‘tell’ you a story of centuries past.

After that, visit Kolasin; talk a walk along the main street, to feel the am-bience of this small mountain town. Enjoy mountain luxury in the comfor-table foyer of the Hotel Bianca Resort & SPA, and be sure to try the local tea.

Further on your road leads you towards Biogradska gora, one of the last three virgin forests in Europe. This natu-ral reserve has been protected since 1878, when it was bestowed as a gift to the then King Nikola and became the King’s Reserve. In the very heart of the virgin forest, at an altitude of 1,094 me-tres, Lake Biogradsko is hidden.

From Biogradska gora, your journey continues towards Durmitor. You will go through Mojkovac, a city located in the valley, and then through the black pine forest “Crna Poda”, past Dobrilovina Mo-nastery, and then a miracle of human engineering, the fascinating constru-ction of the Djurdjevica Tara Bridge will appear before you. Built between 1938 and 1940, it was the largest and most beautiful road bridge ever made of reinforced concrete in Europe. It has a strong, five-arc construction, with the main arc spanning across 116 metres, rising more than 150 metre above the

deep canyon. If you a brave enough, you can “zip line” yourself across the River Tara. That is an adrenaline bomb even for the bravest of us.

around it. What you must do is take a walk along the path leading to the Black Lake. If you plan a longer stay, there is Mount Durmitor with its peaks above the town, and the most popular tour is the one to Bobotov kuk (2,523 metres above sea level). Savin kuk is the largest of the several available ski slopes. You can get all the necessary instructions, maps and advice on the mountain vi-sits from the Tourism Organization of Zabljak, whose office is located in the centre of the town near Hotel Zabljak.

Taking the new road, you will reach Po-dgorica from Zabljak in around two ho-urs. Stop off in Niksic, to take a rest in a restaurant on the shore of Lake Krupac; well, it is on your way.

Ljeto dobrog ukusa - Tivat (maj-avgust) – Gastro manifesta-cija, čiji je cilj promocija gastrokultrunih vrijednosti Tivta i drugih nacionalnih kuhinja, praćeni autentičnim folklornim i muzičkim sadržajima; promocija nacionalnih proizvoda (vina i Bokeške masline) domaćih i regionalnih proizvođača;

Street Art Festival (17-22. jun) -Street Art Festival dono-si nove boje u Herceg Novi, pri čemu različiti umjetnici muralima oslikavaju površine u urbanim dijelovima grada.

Pašticada fest (20. juna)- Gastronomski festival koji se održava u Petrovcu inspirisan je pašticadom, tradicional-nim primorskim jelom koje se ovom prilikom dijeli duž petrovačkog šetališta. Program manifestacije je cjelodne-van i obuhvata degustaciju pašticade, tradicionalnih pri-morskih poslastica (ruštula, fugace, patišpanja i priganica) i crnogorskog vina, te popodnevni program za mališane i večernje koncerte poznatih muzičara.

IV D’olcinium International Festival - Ulcinj (jun) –Po-red folklornog koncerta na kojem učestvuju preko 12 grupa iz zemlje i regiona, takođe u okviru manifestacije se odr-žavaju razne aktivnosti za djecu kao i koncerti zabavne muzike sa poznatim izvođačima.

Kalopera Days in Nikšić Held in May. Traditional ma-nifestation that is of cultural, entertainment, sports and educational character.

Servantes and Octet Days - Ulcinj (Maj) – Held on the former Square of Slaves, in the Old Town, which will take us back to the 17th century and times when this famous writter was inprisoned in the Old town. Event includes concerts of different bands from country and region.

Žućenica fest - Tivat (May/June)– Festival in honour of ta-sty herb zucenica is a popular manifestation for promoti-on of autochtone coastal wild herb that is used in this part of Boka for preparation of many traditional meals. Event also involves an interesting musical programme.

Summer of Good Taste - Tivat (May-August) – Gastro manifestation for promotion of gastronomic and cultural values of Tivat and other national cuisines, accompanied by authentic folklore and music programme; promotion of national products (wine and olives from Boka) of local and regional producers;

Motor show in Sutomore Held during first half of May and September, gathering motorcyclist from ex-Yugoslavia.

International Regata on the Lim River (end of May/be-gining of June)Traditional sports and tourist manifestati-on that marks the begining of tourism season in munici-palities through which the river Lim runs through. Regata lasts three days, starting from Plav, through Andrijevica, Berane, Bijelo Polje, ending in Prijepolje, Serbia.

Street Art Festival (June 17-22) -Street Art Festival brings new colours to Herceg Novi, with artists painting murals in urban parts of the city.

Pašticada fest (20. juna) - Gastronomic festival held in Petrovac, inspired by pasticada-traditional seacoast meal, which is served during the festival along Petrovac prome-nade. It is a one-day manifestation where visitors can taste pasticada, traditional sweets from the coast (ruštula, fugaca, patispanj and priganice) and Montenegrin wine. There is also an afternoon programme for kids and eve-ning concerts of famous musicians.

4th D’olcinium International Festival - Ulcinj (June) – Folklore concerts with over 12 ensembles from the country and region. There are also different activities for kids and pop music concerts of well known musicians.

Mountain Bike Marathon ‘Cycling through Serbia and Montenegro’ (June 25-July4.) Bike marathon through eight cities in Serbia and Montenegro.

Southern Soul Festival Montenegro 2017 (June 29.- July 2) Held for the fifth time in Montenegro. Organized in coope-ration with records company ‘Fest & Event’, it’s a festival of soul, funk, lounge and jazz music. Over 40 well known artists from the region, Europe and the world will perform at D’olcinium Kite Clubu. Southern Soul Festival has put Ulcinj on the world’s music map.

Don Branko Music Festival, KotorArt (end of June-be-ginning of August)-Performances of symphonic orche-stras, choirs and ballet troups from the region, and renow-ned chamber orchestras.

Carp Days, Podgorica (beginning of June) This event is promotion of natural, traditional and tourism values of Skadar Lake basin and legal and sustainable carp fishing. Visitors can enjoy rich flavors of fish and wine and diffe-rent cultural and entertainment programme.
