Our students are active and informed citizens prepared for a complex, rapidly changing world.

Ulladulla Public School is a member of the Milton-Ulladulla Learning Community (MULC) and a part of the Far South-Coast Network of schools. Our school offers a dynamic education in a caring environment. We have a strong commitment to Literacy and Numeracy, and our outstanding teachers are committed to helping all students reach their full potential.

The school student population in 2016 is 701 enrolled in 27 classes from K-6. Ulladulla Public School has a committed Support Unit consisting of MC, IM and ED classes. The school will apply for a 4th

Special Ed class in 2016

In 2014, a planning process was undertaken across the whole school community to review current practices and collect evidence from our school community.This evidence was used in planning sessions to share ideas and identify the priorities for the 2015-2017 school plan. The process included a Strength, Weakness, Opportunity and Threat (SWOT) analysis, parent and community surveys, AECG consultation, P&C committee consulation, school Executive consultation and the formation of a Strategic Directions Committee . As a result, three key strategic directions were identified as a basis for developments. These are:

Parents: Parents and caregivers work with staff and students in classrooms to improve the quality of education programs and to develop a shared understanding of the expectations of the teaching of literacy and numeracy in our school.

Community partners: Deliver the Community Tutor Reading Program to support “at risk” poor performing students within the school. Forge a strategic alliance with the University of Wollongong and other educational facilities to allow Primary

Individual Learning Plans. Whole school professional learning with a focus

on coaching, mentoring and developing Professional Learning Plans for all staff.

Ongoing professional learning via optional lesson studies with buddy / mentor teacher (Lesson Study model - Numeracy).

Facilitate community learning workshops to increase community understanding of literacy and numeracy skills.

Opportunities are extended to staff to attend leadership conferences and professional learning.

They are safe, feel nurtured and are empowered to make positive choices. We aim to engage student leaders in the development of leadership capabilities.

Staff: Staff empower students to make positive choices through the implementation of the UPS Discipline Policy. They ensure that the school environment is a happy and positive place by embedding a positive tone into daily practise, school structures, planning, organisation and management. Staff support and empower each other through mentoring, collaboration, honesty and by adhering to the DEC Code Of Conduct as well as the Dignity and Respect in the Workplace

How do we do it and how will we know? School values are clearly defined. Behaviour expectations are taught. There is an ongoing reward system for

expected behaviours. There is a system for responding to

behavioural issues. Effective monitoring and decision

making is evident. Management is effective. Positive well-being of students and

staff is evident. Strategies used include “Bucket Filling
