The Vedanta Society of Japan is a branch of “Ramakrishna Mission” in India. 4. JICA Kansai organized “Namaste India 2012-weaving the international relations from India” on 3 & 11 November in Osaka. The Event was supported by the Embassy. 5. A Seminar by Japan Tea Association In association with Embassy of India, India IT-Club held a panel discussion/seminar at the ICC Multi-Function Room on November 9. FS (Cons) delivered a welcome speech at the seminar which was attended by IT professional from different IT companies. More than 60 members attended the event.

Monthly Record of Events – November 2012

1. Nippon Budokan Foundation organized a “Japanese Budo Delegation to India” from 31 October to 7 November. The tour was supported and promoted by the Embassy.

3. Monthly Discourse on Bhagavad Gita

Swami Medhasananda, President of the Vedanta Society of Japan conducted the monthly discourse on “Sri Bhagavad Geeta” in Japanese language at the ICC Multi-Function Room on November 3. The Vedanta Society of Japan is a branch of “Ramakrishna Mission” in India.

6. India Cultural Centre Outreach Activity

As part of ICC outreach activities, Dr. Sudarshan Ram, ICC Music Teacher gave a solo Tabla recital at “Children Summer Fair” organized by Setagaya Ward City Office in Tokyo on November 17. Setagaya Ward City Office runs various international cultural exchange programs. Dr. Ram’s Tabla performance was appreciated by the audience very much.

7. NPO World Heritage Torch- run Concert organized a “World Heritage Torch- Run Concert by Ms. Misa Jonouchi” in first week of November in Tokyo and from 17-25 November in India. The concert was supported and promoted by the Embassy.

8. In association with Embassy of India, Osaka University, Osaka School of International organized a “Photo Exhibition on Japan–India History of Exchange” from 26 November to 30 November in Osaka.

9. Dance for All! World Festival Committee organized festival titled “Dance for All! World Festival” on 23 November in Tokyo. The Festival was supported and promoted by the Embassy.

10. Natya Manjari Japan organized a cultural program titled “Indian nine planets Gods Navagraha” on 24 November in Kanagawa prefecture. The program was supported by the Embassy.

11. Visit of Bollywood Group to Japan

As part of the celebration to mark the 60 th anniversary of establishment of India-Japan diplomatic relation, an ICCR sponsored 12-member Bollywood Dance troupe led by Ms. Penaz Masani visited Japan from 23 to 30 Nov to perform at the National Theatre of Okinawa and other locations in Japan. On 25 Nov, the troupe performed at the National Theater of Okinawa. On 27 Nov, the troupe performed at the Niigata Prefectural Hall in Niigata. On 28 Nov, the troupe performed in Fukushima prefecture and on 29 Nov at the ICC auditorium, Tokyo. All performances were very well appreciated by the audience.

12. Science & Technology Diplomatic Circle Symposium

Science & Technology Diplomatic Circle organized a symposium at the ICC auditorium on 30 Nov to discuss about the current environmental changes and their effects on social life. Ambassador Mrs. Deepa Gopalan Wadhwa delivered speech on this occasion.

13. A Fusion dance performance

On the occasion of 60 th anniversary of India-Japan diplomatic relation, Min-On Concert Association organized an Indian classical dance, Odissi, Kathak and Bharatnatyam performance by Ms. Uma Dogra and group throughout the Japan from 30 November to 15 December. The group performed at the ICC Auditorium on 12 Dec. program was supported by Embassy.
