B.El.Ed. Newsletter Vol. 11, May 2015

E Newsletter of B.El.Ed.

FROM THE PRINICIPALS DESK

Creative writing leads to a more profound appreciation of any test and improves debating skills and critical reading. Theres something about the act of writing that eases the soul and frees the mind. Many people turn to the written word in times of stress or confusion because creative writing is one of the most essential tools one can use to lift spirits. Creative writing encourages Imagination and helps student learn to think outside of the box and teaches persuasiveness and discipline.

The B.El.Ed department is making a lot of efforts to make their students creative thinkers and writers. It also encourages the thoughts of our young girls to be ordered, clear and concise by providing them a platform that is Aarohi.

Aarohi is an expression of our thoughts and emotions and provides us an opportunity to share them with people around. So, keep writing.

I once again congratulate the department for their efforts.

SAVE GIRL CHILD! EDUCATE GIRL CHILD!

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (Save girl child, educate girl child) is a Government of India scheme that aims to generate awareness and improving the efficiency of welfare services meant for women.According to census data, the child sex Ratio (0-6 years) in India was 927 girls per 1,000 boys in 2001, which dropped drastically to 918 girls for every 1,000 boys in 2011.

Speaking on International Day of the Girl Child, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, called for eradication of female foeticide and invited suggestions from the citizens of India on "Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao" on the MyGov portal.

Prime Minister Modi launched the programme on January 22, 2015 from Panipat, Haryana. The main objective of programme was to -Prevent gender based sex selective elimination.Ensure survival & protection of the Girl ChildEnsure education of the Girl ChildImprove the Nutrition Status of Girl ChildPromote a protective environment for Girl Child.

So a girl should not be treated as a burden. No one should have the right to kill a girl child not just because of the laws but for the sake of humanity.IF GIRLS ARE NOT BORN, WHO WILL YOU MARRY YOUR SON'S TO? WHO WILL GIVE

BIRTH TO NEXT GENERATION?Save girl!! Educate her!! It is not what she demands, It is her right..People say in old age sons come in handy. Had that been true so many old age homes would not have opened. Sons have cars and bungalows yet parents remain in old age homes. On the other hand, there are innumerable daughters who work hard to keep their parents happy. If girls get the chance, they perform better than boys.

Banning the Ban

Mum saying no no dont eat it, it will harm you but the child eat that only, whether in front of her or at the back.

Yes, its true, have you ever seen a child doing all that stuff what you stop them from doing. They actually dont obey those rules what you ban them. Ask yourself only, if anyone ask you or ban you from doing things, dont you have the curiosity why banning this, what is the reason behind it, etc.

Actually, its not only your problem, it is the problem of human mentality, that if you will ban something people will do that.

Here are some few examples-

1. Hacking is banned, doesnt sites being hacked?

2. YouTube ban the videos, arent they downloaded?

3. Simplest example- on the board it is written dont pluck the flowers and interesting part is people pluck from there only.

4. On the wall it is written dont pee here does anyone listen?

So these were some basic and simple examples which we observe in daily life.

Now important part is does banning girls from wearing short dresses, or hanging out with friends, working late night, attending parties, will stop rape cases?

Rape cases in rural areas are more in number than the urban areas. So does the dress play any role in it? NO

Some people do comment that wearing short dresses provoke men and invite them to commit crime. So it means if a guy isnt wearing helmet on the road should provoke others to hit him on his head because he is not protecting his head, as clothes are for the protection.

Banning the movies stop people from watching it. Really? Cant they download it? Banning the sites cant they being
