(How does the objective(s) tie into the “Big Idea” of your SLO? ) Students will be able to greet someone, leave someone, thank someone, introduce themselves and others, ask and tell someone’s name, give telephone numbers, pronounce the letters of the alphabet, recognize and use the French accents, and restate information Domain 1 2. Common Core Learning Standards Addressed : (You MUST write out the identifier along with the numbers of the standards.) 1.1 Students engage conversation. 1.2 Students understand and interpret written and spoken language. 1.3 Students present information to an audience. 2.1 Students understand the relationships of the culture. 3.1 Students reinforce knowledge of other disciplines. 4.1 Students understand the nature of language. Domain 1 3. Formative Assessment Criteria for Success : (Utilizing the W.R.I.T.E. initiative, how will both you & your students know if they have successfully met the objectives? What specific criteria will be met in a successful product/process? What does success on this unit’s outcome(s) look like?) The assessments will be dialogs, oral exercise practice, and writing practice. The students will be able to speak in conversation, answer questions correctly, and write answers to French questions. In addition, there are opportunities for critical thinking skills, as I have adapted some exercises to French class. Domain 1 4. Activities/Tasks : (What specific learning experiences will students engage in? How will you use these learning experiences or their student products as formative assessment opportunities? How will “process” lead to “product.”) The students will practice canned dialogues, as well as creating their own dialogues. They will work in groups to answer orally the text questions. Resources/Materials: (What texts, digital resources and/or materials will be used in this unit’s lesson?)Students have access to the text book, grammar and vocabulary packet, the workbook, CDs – one with the text and a supplementary CD for song and dance. There are several teacher made materials throughout the unit to reinforce the concepts.

6. Modifications/Accommodations: (What curriculum modifications and/or classroom accommodations will you make for students with IEPs (Gifted), or for those students who are ELL?) Modifications include word banks and less difficult exercises, plus any specifications mentioned in the IEP.
