Network Cameras with VCA Technology

Description SMAVIA Recording Server now supports Dallmeier network cameras that are equipped with VCA technology (Video Content Analysis).

The SMAVIA appliance continuously receives the results of the VCA analysis functions as event messages with the corresponding metadata in addition to the recorded video stream.

The SMAVIA appliance uses the received motion events to control the recording of the video stream in the Motion Detection mode. Furthermore, the received event messages are stored with the corresponding metadata in a database and kept for evaluation with SMAVIA Viewing Client.

The SMAVIA appliance recognizes a camera that is equipped with the new VCA technology during the camera test. After deactivating the option Image processing on recorder, all necessary settings for storing and providing analysis events and metadata are automatically made. All other settings, such as the configuration of the Motion Detection recording mode, can be performed as usual.

• Option image processing on recorder deactivated• Data storage in the Recording Settings dialog activated• Search items Motion Coordinates and SEDOR Data activated

Function Protect Track Parts

Description The current version of SMAVIA Recording Server has been extended with the new function Protect Track Parts.

The function allows for the definition of parts of a track, which are protect-ed against overwriting. After backup or evaluation of the protected areas, the corresponding memory space should be released again for recording in the ring memory.

Protected track areas reduce the memory space available for recording (ring memory). The Protect Track Parts function is not suitable for creating an archive.

HDD Management

Description The current version of SMAVIA Recording Server has been extended with a function for formatting and initializing hard disks in the HDD Management dialog.

This function can be helpful especially after replacing hard disks. If data or partitions are still stored on the new hard disk, the required formatting and initialization can be triggered directly via the user interface. Removing the hard disk is no longer required.

Note that this function formats all hard disks on the appliance. Existing recordings on a second hard disk are lost.

Also note that this feature is only available for non-RAID appliances. In a RAID array, new hard disks are automatically initialized.

Definition of Areas

Description The current version of SMAVIA Recording Server has been optimized with regard to dialogs, which allow a definition of areas (e.g. for motion detec-tion or static pixelation). By using a finer grid, the areas can be adjusted more precisely.

Note that the finer grid can cause a slight shift of already defined areas. We recommend checking the corresponding dialogs.
