2013 4-H Space Camp Trip

I think space camp was amazing, I met

new people from all over the state, and

the learning experience was incredible.

My favorite thing about camp was the

Hubble telescope movie, and the space shot. I also

enjoyed my mission in which I was the mission

specialist #2, and got to do an extra vehicular activity

(EVA) which I unfortunately burned up in the

atmosphere. I'll never forget any of the new friends I

made there, or many of the interesting facts I learned.

Sabrina Servais

You can find more information about Space Camp

on page 15. Also, contact Colleen to get your

questions answered about Space Camp — find out

who has gone on this trip previously, check out a

Camp Counselor or to be a chaperone on this trip!

OMG! You’ve Got 4-H Parents! Now What??

• Presented by: Pat McGlaughlin, University of Illinois; Steve McKinley, Purdue University; Mary Jo

Williams, University of Missouri

Parents play a critical role in deciding the organizations in which their children will participate. The

experience the family has in 4-H during their first year is important for long-term participation. This

session will help volunteers explore a variety of strategies to increase positive parental support of local 4-

H programs. As a result, parents will stay connected with their own children, recognize mutual

expectations and responsibilities between parents and volunteers, and become caring adults for other

youth.

Register one week prior to the session you will

attend by calling the UW-Extension Office, 637-

5276. Bring a friend! Snacks provided!
