Ox-Bow LakeThe river is flowing from right to left and has blocked off the upstream end of its former course with deposits visible to the right of the centre of the image. The new course crosses the centre of the image and the downstream end of the former course remains connected to the channel.

The floodplain of the Wye is clearly visible beyond the A438 road in the foreground. The distinct summit in the background is Twmpa (or Lord Hereford's Knob) and the col to its left is the Gospel Pass.
