CULTURE

Spain has lots of religions, there are a lot of immigrants that started to live here so more religions are practiced.

We can say that the main one is catholicism but there is also christianity, islam and buddhism.

CLIMATE

The climate in Spain is not too hot throughout the year, it is a mediterranean climate so normally it is hot in the summer and usually it’s not that cold in winter.

We live in Valencia so there is a coast, this makes our city more appealing to tourists who come because of the climate.

FOOD

Here in the Valencian Community we have typical foods such as paella that it is eaten in all of Spain but it is originally from Valencia, paella can be done with different ingredients like meat, shellfish…

Another typical thing from Valencia is the orange, we know that oranges are very popular but in Valencia we grow them in our own fields.

TRADITIONS

FALLASWe have different festivals that we celebrate in Spain, but Fallas are the most famous ones. It consists of creating a structure of cardboard that you paint and give it a shape, at the end you have a lot of structures that create a big monument.

The funny thing about these awesome monuments is that when something happens in politics it is criticised in a funny way.

Sadly, on the last day of this festival, the fallas are burned.

SPORTS

The most famous sport in Valencia is Pilota Valenciana, this sport is played with a little strong ball that you have to throw to the adversary’s wall without them throwing it to you.

It is played in a Trinquet, a really straight court.

To play this sport, you have to prepare a really strong glove so you don’t hurt your hand.

CELEBRITIES

Some famous celebrities that you could know are: Antonio Banderas, Enrique Iglesias, Mario Casas, Elsa Pataky, Pastora Soler…

The most known celebrities are the football players, that are known internationally. For example: David Villa, Iker Casillas, Sergio Ramos…

Some famous journalists are: Sara Carbonero, Arturo Valls, Jesús Vazquez...
