they are carefree.
Fifth Installment

Description: In 1979, Warhol was
commissioned by BMW to paint a
Group 4 race version of the elite super-
car BMW M1 for the fourth installment
in the BMW Art Car Project. My piece
is an interpretation of this Andy Warhol
piece using the Scion tC because of it’s
new aggressive look.
Translucent
Artist: Jeff Berman
E-mail: [email protected]
Web Site: www.lostinart.biz
Description: I love the look of the 2011 tC and didn’t want to alter it’s appearance
with a painting. I decided to take my favorite angles of the car along with the
most important features to me and make them the focal point of my piece. I also
read about pure price and the translucent sales process at Scion and thought it
would be perfect to use transparency film as the base of my painting.
Dirty Diana
Artist: Malcolm Trotter
E-mail: [email protected]
Web Site: Malcolmtrotter.com
Description: This piece depicts the passive
aggressive beast hidden under the composed
clean exterior of the 2011 tC. Almost each
color in the painting represents an element in
our senses that the tC is able to stimulate. The
hard personality makes itself apparent
through a display of sight (look), sound
(speakers), and feel (horsepower).
What A Girl Wants
Artist: Mimi Bogale
E-mail: [email protected]
Web Site:
Description: In the painting, the girl
longs for a powerful relationship that is
fulfilling. She searches high and low for
this connection but she is not satisfied. To
her surprise, she finds a connection with
2011 Scion tC. She’s captivated by the
180 horsepower engine and her heart is
won. We all long for a relationship that is
fulfilling and meaningful in a partner,
and this is also true for our relationship
with our cars.
300 Watts

Description: My piece is an abstract representation of the 8 speaker 300 watt sound system found in the
2011 Scion tC.
The Stone Lullaby
Artist: Ricardo Cisneros
E-mail: [email protected]
Web Site: Myspace.com/fluxspace
Description: Cursed by Athena, the once beautiful
maiden know as Medusa now lurks in darkness. It
is not her gaze that powers the fears of men but
her sweet lullaby. It is believed that she lures the
bold and the strong, with projected melody that
emanates from her head tendrils and out the
speakers at the ends. It is the corruption within
the listener that succumbs ultimately to the stone
slumber. For such a sweet melody is meant for the
purest heart.
Everybody’s Gotta Learn Sometime!
Artist: Malcolm Trotter
E-mail: [email protected]
Web Site: malcolmtrotter.com
Description: This piece represents the composed side of the 2011 tC. It is the
mild mannered suit that “The Machine” exhibits on the showroom floor, but is
also prepared to be as wild as the imagination of the driver who desires it’s
championship.
We Own The Night
Artist: David Gorman
E-mail: [email protected]
Description, from left to right: The piece as a whole represents two tattooed arms coming together to form a Scion symbol with their
hands. The triple C’s on the boom box represents the 300 watt sound system in roman numerals. Just to the right, there’s an old school
gas pump. On the top, I have the gas mileage, street and highway, on the sign. I used rays coming off the gas pump to show a divinity
there; an idea that this generation consumes more fuel than no other. To the right of that, I painted a standard 18” 2011 TC alloy wheel.
Next is a drive-in movie theatre showing the back of the scion (making headroom look visible and roomy) and the movie playing. "Take
on the Machine" is the new slogan of scion and used in all the marketing, so I decided to have the movie showing Godzilla vs. a robot,
literally taking on the machine. Using the “Price is Right" "S" on the sleeve I was able to display the dollar amount of the TC ($18,995)
in roman numerals. Lastly, the elephant trunk was used to represent the trunk space. (14.7cu. inches) drawn in roman numeral in the
space between the loops in the trunk..
Eighty Eight Point Four
Artist: Megan Flanders
E-mail: [email protected]
Web Site: ManicCeramic.com
Description: In my piece, you will find 88.4 circles
which serve as an abstract translation of the pas-
senger cargo volume found in the 2011 Scion tC.
