M-ATV Mission
• The primary mission of the M-ATV is to provide protected ground mobility capable of operating in a threat environment involving ambushes employing the use of mines, Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs), Rocket Propelled Grenades (RPGs), EFPs, and small arms fire (SAF).
• The M-ATV will enhance the effectiveness of ground combat forces (including combat, combat support, and combat service support) with a focus on stability operations against unconventional enemy forces engaged in irregular warfare on a non-linear battlefield.
• Missions: The M-ATV mission is for small unit combat operations in highly restricted rural, mountainous, and urban environments that include mounted patrols, reconnaissance, security, convoy protection, communications, command and control, and combat service support. The M-ATV will carry up to five personnel – four plus a gunner.
