A student is a full academic year participant if they are enrolled for 65% or more of a course.

FAY considers enrollment only.

Attendance is not used to determine FAY.

The 65% Application refers to FAY as Meets 65%.

Why the 65% Application?

The 65% application allows schools and districts a second chance to review the data before it

is used for teacher and leader evaluations.

In the 65% application, the link is confirmed between:• teachers and courses,• students and courses,• leaders and schools (district-level only).

65% Application: Uses 2015 Data for 2016

Evaluations

• Student growth measures for evaluations lag by one school year.

• Student growth measures from 2015 will be used for the 2016 TEM and LEM.

• The work you do now in the 65% Application using 2015 data affects TEMs and LEMs calculated by the State for 2016.

How does the State Determine 65%?

Course length is determined from the start and end dates of the course for the scheduled term.

The course length is the actual number of days between the start and end dates including weekends and holidays.

How does the State Determine 65%?

Teacher: “Meets” if the the teacher was scheduled for the course for 65% or more of the length of the course.

Student: “Meets” if the student was enrolled in the course for 65% or more of the length of the course.

Login to MyGaDOE1. Go to the Georgia DOE Webpage:

http://www.gadoe.org.

2. Click on the MyGaDOE link at the bottom of the page to go to the portal login page.

The unduplicated count of teachers with courses that “Meet 65%”

The unduplicated count of teachers with courses that “Does Not Meet 65%”

The total number of teachers in the application

The sum of “Meets” and “Does Not Meet” will not equal the Total.Teachers can appear in both groups. Same ideas apply to students, too.

What do you need to do in the 65% Application?

Task 1: Correct obvious, school-specific errors in:

SLO, EOG, and EOC courses.

Task 2: Certify the data for your school.

Task 1: Correct Obvious, School-specific

ErrorsMany schools have a couple of teachers with courses where the “Teacher Percentage” is 0 or

less.

Note the Marking Period N1 means Quarter 1. Note the Class Start Date and End Date. Note the Teacher Start Date and End Date.

This teacher should be changed from “Does Not Meet” to “Meets”.

Step 1. Change 65% Requirement from “Does Not Meet” to “Meets”.

Step 2. Enter “Schedule error” for Comments.

Step 3. Press “Update.”
