USING THE PIVOT™ PROGRAM

Step 1. Go to http://digital-watchdog.com/productdetail/Pivot-central-monitoring-software/ on any browser. Select the “Software” tab. Click the down arrow on the right side of the page to download the software.

Step 2. Open the compressed file that downloads. It is most commonly found in your computer’s “Downloads” folder. You will see “CMS” followed by the version and release date. Run the software.

Step 3. Install the Pivot software. This installs like any other program. By default, it will save to your “Program Files” and create a new folder. Press “Next” until the software is installed.

Step 4. Run the software. By default, you should now have a shortcut for both the Pivot software and the Player. When you run it for the first time, the software will ask for you to create a password and confirm the password. This is for the software, not the DVR. You may leave the password blank if you choose. Press “OK” to continue.

Step 5. This is the main Pivot screen. You will notice that there are quite a large number of screens. This software is capable of viewing multiple DVRs at a time. There are many features that Pivot is capable of, but we’ll focus on setting up Pivot for viewing your DVR.

Step 6. Right click in the large, empty box on the left side of the page. Then left click on “Add Site” to add your DVR to the Pivot software.

Step 7. This is the Registration page. You will notice a lot of the same terminology that you would find on your DVR’s Network page or on the mobile app. Fill out the fields to match your DVR’s settings.

Step 8. If you look below at our example, we’ve decided to use the VMAX 960H FLEX demo that we have available on our website for testing. Note that the ID and Password fields here are meant for your DVR, not the Pivot software. Press “OK” once you’ve filled out the information.

Step 9. If you look at the big box white box on the left again, you will see that it lists the name that you’ve given the site as well as the address you are connecting with. You can add multiple sites and they will all display here for you to select them.

Step 10. Right click on the site you’ve just created. This time you will press “Live” or “Search” depending on if you want to view the live stream or view past recorded footage.

Step 11. You should be able to see your DVR! There are a number of different settings and tools that Pivot has to offer, but getting a network connection is the most important part for any of it to work!

Additional Notes • You might be familiar with our ACS software for Windows®. This has been updated
to support the newer models as well as the older ones. If you are unsure which software to use, it is a good bet that you can use Pivot.
• The yellow box around one of the channels is the selected channel. Keep that in mind when you are using the Pivot software.
• Any further information regarding the full capabilities of the software can be found in the manual. This guide is made to simplify the setup process.
