WelcomeBuilders and developers who are registered with us are entitled to use our logo on their stationery and advertising, including letterheads, site boards, websites, brochures and vans. Our logo lets your customers know that you are NHBC registered and, when building new homes, that you agree to comply with our Rules and Standards.

This pack contains files of our logo with strapline. Any old versions that you may have should no longer be used. To ensure the NHBC logo is only available to registered builders and developers, it is not possible to download the logo from our website.

NHBC Pride in the Job winners are permitted to use a special version of the logo only available to award winners. This can be obtained from NHBC Events on 01908 746726.

If you experience any problems or require further information, please contact Design and Production on 01908 746717.

NHBC core logoThe NHBC core logo and strapline

should only appear in the configurations

shown opposite. To ensure consistent

and accurate reproduction, the logo and

strapline should only be reproduced from

the master artwork in the correct colours.

This strapline is integrated with the logo and must not be altered in any way.

Do not create new straplines.

The strapline must not be used on its own.

The logo should never be used as a substitute for the letters ‘NHBC’, or as text within a sentence, strapline or body copy.

The logo should not be linked or combined with any other symbols or lettering unless authorised by Marketing Operations.

Our logo and strapline must never be redrawn in any way.

The NHBC core logo has been created with a white keyline around it, which encases all the elements so it can be used on a dark background. This keyline is an integral part of the logo artwork and must not be deleted or recoloured.

Our logo must be used consistently. There are four options available. The choice is based on best legibility:

Using the correct logo.

1. Core blue and red with blue strapline (preferred version).

2. Core blue and red with white strapline when used on a dark background.

3. Mono black (single colour) where the print process restricts colour output.

4. Mono white (single colour). There may be occasions where a white version is required, if the print process is restrictive, please contact Design and Production on 01908 746717 who can advise on usage.

Coated paper This would include brochures, flyers and any professionally produced/printed marketing materials with a gloss/silk finish.

Uncoated paper This would include stationery and any desktop-produced printed materials with a matt finish.

Note: The colour shown throughout this guide has not been evaluated by Pantone® for accuracy and may not match the PANTONE MATCHING SYSTEM® (PMS). Consult current Pantone® publications for accurate colour.

ColoursThe NHBC logo and strapline is made up of two colours: blue and red. There are Digital and Litho versions of this logo, for use

with coated and uncoated paper. Deciding which logo to use will depend upon the size and reproduction method.

Colour breakdowns are shown below. They can be used with the Pantone colour system, or, where this is not practical (e.g. in

digital printing), with the 4-colour process (CMYK). The logo can also be reproduced in single colour, mono black. Reproducing

the NHBC logo in any other colour is not permitted and is a breach of NHBC copyright. Permission should be sought to use

the logo in any other application.

When signage or stationery is professionally printed, the supplier will be able to advise you which type of paper is being used,

and therefore which logo should be selected.

Guide to file formats The master logo artwork has been provided in four file formats. You should choose the format that best suits each usage requirement.

.EpsEps is a vector file that allows the user to rescale the size of the artwork without losing resolution quality. This is ideal to supply to a designer for use on stationery, brochures and exhibition stands. Eps files are supported by all Microsoft Office applications (including PowerPoint and Word).

.JpgJpg is a compressed file allowing a trade-off between storage size and image quality, with little loss in the latter. This format is not suitable for rescaling without loss of quality, therefore should only be used in an application when an eps cannot.

.Gif and .PngGif and png files are compressed using a lossless data compression technique to reduce the file size without degrading the visual quality. This is ideal for use on the web and emails.

All files are contained within the ‘NHBC logo files’ folder on this CD-ROM. Individual files can be downloaded by clicking the logos on the following pages.
