General information about myGEKKO & LCN

The myGEKKO LCN Interface allows you to connect the LCN bus components to the myGEKKO system. myGEKKO is

able to receive several input signals as well as to send output signals. The connections e.g. between the buttons and

the lights can be created with myGEKKO and modified at any time using myGEKKO without other programming tools.

For example, the connection between LCN and Enocean, DMX, KNX or Modbus can be created quickly with myGEKKO.

Connection

The connection between myGEKKO and LCN is created by means of the LCN-PCHK software, which is connected to

the LCN bus via LCN-PKU coupler. The communication of the myGEKKO with LCN is realized via LAN network using

the LCN.PCK protocol.

It is possible to connect max. 8 LCN-PCHK in parallel. If you want to combine the LCN with other IO systems (KNX,

Modbus, ...), remember that you can not connect more than 8 IO systems to the myGEKKO system.

Addressing

In general myGEKKO can activate only the LCN devices which are located in the segment of the LCN-PCHK. If the

system has several segments, you need more LCN-PCHK.

Configuration on the myGEKKO

1. LCN-PCHK

1. Make sure that the LCN-PCHK is connected with the bus via LCN-PKU, that the service is active and that you

have a valid licence which allows the access from the myGEKKO. Assign user name and password in the LCN

PCHK and write down the IP address needed for the access to the LCN PCHK. By default, myGEKKO uses the

port 4114 for the communication with LCN-PCHK, but this setting can be modified.

IMPORTANT: The password must be an eight digit number, e.g. "12345678".

2. Log in in the myGEKKO as configurator and open the IO configuration. Select "LCN" and save the IP

address of the LCN-PCHK, as well as "user name" and "password".

3. After approx. 10 seconds the field "Login OK" turns to green.

Hint: If the field remains "red", check if the myGEKKO is connected to the network and if the network settings of

the myGEKKO (IP, gateway, ...) are correct. Then repeat the above mentioned actions. Schritte.

General hints:

With the field "Module interval" you can delay the sending of LCN commands in fast sequence to a single module

up to 1000 msec to avoid the overloading of the module. For example, the simultaneous deactivation of 8 relays

of a relay module would generate 8 simultaneous telegrams; each of them would be delayed by the given interval.

This interval does not affect the telegrams of other modules.

In order to reduce the bus load on the LCN it is necessary to deactivate all the status messages of the modules.

2. LCN buttons / binary inputs

1. Assign an ID to each LCN module and program the necessary buttons with the keycodes as described in the

attached instructions. The binary inputs (from firmware 1999) are interrogated cyclically and don't need to be

programmed.

2. Now you can use the buttons in the myGEKKO configuration. The buttons and the binary inputs can be assigned

to several digital inputs.

For the digital input the selection offers 4 button tables and the binary input as type. In the configuration screen you will see the abbreviation "5.TA.1"

3. Electronic outputs LCN, relays, LED

1. Elecronic outputs are listed in the configuration menu of myGEKKO as type 'O-ELC'. The outputs can be assi-

gned to digital outputs (DO) as well as to analogue outputs (AO), e.g. as switching output (DO) or as dim output

(AO) for the lights. With the assignment as DO the ramp is set to 0; with the assignment as AO the ramp is set

to 5 in order to realize a soft dimming.

2. Relays and LEDs are listed in the myGEKKO configuration menu as type 'O-REL' and 'O-LED'. They can be

assigned to digital outputs (DO).

4. Temperature values, variables

Temperature values and variables are supported from the module firmware 170201/Feb.2013. You can recall the

variables Var.1 ... Var.12.

1. Temperature values are listed in the myGEKKO configuration as 'VTMP' and can be assigned to each ana-

logue input (AI). Define PT100x as type. The temperature values are displayed in °C.

2. Analogue values (brightness, wind, ...) are listed in the myGEKKO configuration as 'VCOM' and can be assi-

gned to each analogue input (AI). The values are displayed as raw data on the myGEKKO. If you need a special

conversion of the values, you can carry it out with the logic module of myGEKKO.

5. Controller setpoint values

Controller setpoint values are supported from version LCN-PCHK V2.8.

It is possible to write the controller setpoint values 1 and 2.

1. The controller setpoint values, that you can find in the myGEKKO configuration menu as type 'O-RSP', can

be assigned to analogue outputs (AO). These values can be used e.g. to write the setpoint temperature set on

the myGEKKO on the LCN displays.

Number 1 means controller setpoint value 1, number 2 means controller setpoint value 2.

Activate the LCN mode for the single room controller in the View menu.

Annex:

Instructions for the programming of the push-buttons in LCN

Principle:

Each LCN button has a unique code, incl, the typical LCN 'short', 'long' and 'release'. When you activate a button, his

unique code is send to the LCN bus (without interfering with the LCN modules) and transmitted to the myGEKKO via

LCN-PCHK connection software. This way, each LCN button can be assigned to a given action.

CAUTION: The function 'short' is not used in the myGEKKO and is mentioned here only for completeness. The function

'short' has to be deactivated because it stops the telegram 'long' immediately.

Command:

To assure that the LCN module sends these unique codes, you need the PCK command SKH (87d/57h). (PCK is part

of the connection software LCN-PCHK). It offers two free numeric blocks, from 0 to 255 each.

Example: 57 01 00 57 11 02 57 41 01

57=command SKH(hex), 1st numeric block(hex), 2nd numeric block(hex)

Keycode:

For the connection to the myGEKKO, a fix keycode is assigned to each push-button. The keycodes are listed in the

annex.

The code number results as follows:

TT-xx – button number +1..8,

Button table +0=A, +16=B, +32=C, +64=D

xx-TT – touch +2=short, +1=long, +0=release

Notice: From the module firmware 170201/Feb.2013 and the programming software LCN-PRO 5.0, the system as-

signs to each (to the I-Port connected) GT button some dedicated buttons which are not included in the button tables

A, B, C and D. (For existing projects the setting can be modified manually, in new projects the dedicated buttons are

assigned automatically) No matter what the buttons are assigned to, please always enter the keycodes displayed in

the list for the involved GT button.

Programming of the LCN buttons

In order to enable this special button programming, you have to enter a password in LCN-PRO: Options / Settings /

Rights & licences.

Enter the administrator password Icd$i#df2n. (The 1st character is a capital i). If you want to cancel the password

(reset to factory settings), simply enter a blank space.

a) Destination of the push-button:

As destination enter "Module 4" (by default, LCN-PCHK is ID4).

b) Push-buttons short/long/release:

Now the option "Free input" is available in the command selection screen. Here

you have to enter the SKH command "57h" and the two numeric blocks in hex

format. Only in this field of LCN-PRO you can see the special commands deco-

ded; otherwise they are displayed as "-? -“.

c) Result

Now press the programmed push-button. On the monitor of the LCN-PRO bus you

will see the following information:

time, from module, to module, and "- ? -" for the special command.

The same information is displayed on the LCN-PCHK monitor. Here you can see it even decoded (in blue). On the

myGEKKO it is displayed in the same way.
