5.2 The control

The control of the Click & Go Professional II the operation of Click & Go Professional II is going through a control box (photo 3) and a throttle (photo 4). The control panel on the Click & Go Professional II is standard placed on the push handle of the push propulsion. You can use the control panel on both the left and the right side of the wheelchair, depending on your own preference.

With the red button on the left of the control box, you can turn the push propulsion on and off. With the black button on the right on the control box, you can set the support of the push propulsion in forward (F) and in reverse (R) motion. If the push propulsion is turned on the LED lights below the word ‘Status’ turn green. At the top of the control panel is shown how full the battery of the push propulsion is. Finally, you can at the bottom of the control panel, adjust the speed of the push propulsion.

5.6 Attaching and taking off the push propulsion

The push propulsion is attached to the frame of the wheelchair. It is important that this attachment is carried out in the right way. When the push propulsion is not properly secured, it will not function properly and it may be dangerous.

5.6.1 Attaching the push propulsion

To attach the push propulsion to a wheelchair, first place the push propulsion right behind the wheelchair, as shown photo 10. Photo 11 shows the attachment point on the wheelchair. This concerns the outstanding points. The attachment point of the push propulsion (photo 12) must be pushed onto the attachment point of the wheelchair. Ultimately, the situation as shown in photo 13 is the situation in which the push propulsion is correctly attached to the wheelchair. Photo 10 to photo 13 shows the attachment of the Click & Go Professional II. Moreover, you should push the push propulsion in the attachment points, after placing the push propulsion on the wheelchair. When you hear it click, you can be sure that the push propulsion is attached properly to the wheelchair.

5.6.2 Taking off the push propulsion

To take the push propulsion off the wheelchair, you must push in the left or right release pedal (see photo 14 + 15).

This allows the push propulsion to come loose from the attachment point of the wheelchair (photo 16). In photo 17 you can see how the push propulsion looks when it is taken off. Photo 14 to photo 17 shows how to take off the Click & Go Professional II. In photo 18 you can see the back of the push propulsion, where you can see the freewheel pedal in the middle and on the outside of the left and right release pedals.

6. Maintenance

Your Click & Go Professional II needs periodical maintenance. This is necessary for long and optimum comfort for the user of the push propulsion. A badly maintained push propulsion will give more technical problems, turn less flexible and it won’t be covered by the warranty. Preventive maintenance is very important. We advise you to check, at least once a year, your push propulsion by a qualified Faaborg Rehab dealer. This dealer will only use correct replacement parts. This annual inspection will make sure your push propulsion will work perfect for years.

There are a lot of things you can do yourself to keep your Click & Go Professional II in optimum condition. If you regularly check the push propulsion and perform (small) maintenance, this will extend the lifetime and increase the ease of use. In the following paragraphs this maintenance is further described.

6.1 The tires

You should check the tires of the push propulsion for wear regularly. If the wear is at an advanced stage, you will have to replace the tires. Check the tires for the following points:

• Check of the tires do not stuck;

• Check of there is slack on the tires. If this is the case, it is common that the housing of the tires is loose.

6.1.1 Air tires

The air tires should be checked weekly for inflation. The correct tire pressure is 36PSI / 2.5 BAR. You can measure the voltage of the tires themselves with a common voltage meter. If the pressure is not properly set, the push propulsion will lean. This results in a faster worn on the tires. The push propulsion drives less easy and the progress is much heavier.

6.1.2 PU tires

More and more we use PU tires (polyurethane or puncture-free tires) on the push propulsion. You can recognize these tires because they do not have a valve. These tires have the advantage that they do not need to be pumped up and cannot be punctured. This PU tire can just as an air tire wear out. Check periodically to see if the tread is still deep enough.

6.2 Cleaning of the push propulsion

Cleaning your push propulsion is important and should be done regularly. You can get your push propulsion best cleaned as described below.

• Clean the upholstery, chassis and plastic components on the push propulsion regularly with a mild soap and water. Never use abrasive cleaners, they can damage the varnish. Also, never use steam or high pressure cleaners;

• Wax the varnish of the chassis regularly. Never use solvents, abrasive waxes, caustic chemicals or spray silicone;

• Dry the push propulsion after cleaning. Also dry you push propulsion after you have used it, for example, during rain.

6.3 Batteries

For maximum performance and maximum battery life of the push propulsion, you need to charge your batteries after using. On that way, the batteries are recharged regularly, this is better for the batteries. When charging, it is also advisable to fully charge the batteries for a new use of the push propulsion.

6.4 Service checklist

To maximize the lifetime of your push propulsion, we recommend you to get your push propulsion checked, at least once a year, by an authorized Faaborg Rehab dealer. The form below can be used for this check. The intensity of use of the push propulsion can vary greatly from person to person. Therefore, it may be that your push propulsion needs a check several times a year. Furthermore, maintenance is not covered under warranty.
