Usage of Tantalum Wires
Tantalum wire is an electrical product supports highly corrosive environments. Generally it is used as the lead
wires for the tantalum capacitors. While the other application in which this Tantalum wire can be effectively
used are lighting applications and chemical processing. A premium surface finish tantalum wire has greater
performance in this type of applications.
Tantalum wire is the chief product used for the manufacture of tantalum electrolyte capacitors. Stanford
Advanced Materials is the supplier of more than 40 types of different advanced Tantalum products with the
least diameter of about 0.10mm.
Tantalum wire is extremely high conductive of electricity and heat. For the production of tantalum electrolyte
capacitors Tantalum wire is highly necessary. Further it can be used as a vacuum electron cathode emission
source, while dealing with sputtering and spray materials.
Tantalum is a malleable and ductile metal, shiny and silvery in appearance, exceptionally resistant to chemical
attack.
It has been proved that human body fluids can handle the metal well, thus the metal has a implementation on the
medical field as it is useful for surgical implants. It is a metal of high melting points so it is very refractory in
nature. This metal is used to manufacture steel component for missile and aircraft manufacture due to its high
melting point attribute.
The most common and earliest use of tantalum wire application is the filaments in light bulbs, but subsequently
it is replaced through tungsten wire. Both the tungsten and Tantalum wire has the same feature of refractory
metals which enable them to use in the production of rectifiers and capacitors.
Apart from wire you can get Tantalum material in the form of sheet, ribbon, foil, insulated wire, rod, and mesh
in a range of sizes and quantities. .
Tantalum is a dense heavy slivery shine material, when it is pure. You can find it in little quantity in mineral.
The main benefit of the material is that it is highly corrosion resistant and due to that it is also resistant to acid
attack. The pure metal can be obtained from mineral through the process of electrolysis.
Tantalum is the material which can be used as a replacement for platinum for laboratory apparatus, as both the
material has the same feature of high corrosion resistance. The human body can resist with the material as
human body do not react with the metal. Therefore it can be easily used for surgical implants without rejection.
While the other applications of the pure metal in the field of electronics industry in the production of numerous
kind of electronic equipment such as rectifiers, lamp filaments, capacitors, etc.
