Pregnancy Disability Leave (PDL)

Provision: PDL covers the period of actual disability (as determined by physician) caused by pregnancy, childbirth or related medical conditions up to a maximum of four months.

Eligibility: Does not have a minimum length of service requirement. All employees taking maternity leave are eligible.

Interaction with other leaves: PDL runs concurrently with FMLA.

Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA)California Family Rights Act (CFRA)

Provision: Allows for 12 weeks of job-protected time off for the following reasons:– Birth and care of the eligible employee's child, or placement for

adoption or foster care of a child with the employee; – Care of an immediate family member (spouse/domestic partner*,

child, parent) who has a serious health condition; or – Care of the employee's own serious health condition.

Eligibility: employed by salesforce.com for at least 12 months and have worked at least 1,250 hours in the past 12 months.***If you have not met the eligibility for FMLA/CFRA, you are still eligible to take leave; however, your leave will not subject to the provisions of FMLA/CFRA.

Interaction with other leaves: FMLA runs concurrently with CFRA.

*Domestic Partner is covered by CFRA only

Paid Benefits

CA Voluntary Disability Insurance (VDI)– Eligibility: must satisfy 7 consecutive calendar days of

waiting period. The waiting period is unpaid unless PTO is used.

– Covers 70% of weekly earnings* up to $4,375 per week for the first 90 days of disability

– Covers 66.67% of weekly earnings up to $3,462 per week thereafter

– Tax free benefit

Paid Benefits

CA Paid Family Leave (PFL) – For Bonding Leaves– Eligibility: must satisfy a 7 calendar-days waiting period.

The waiting period is unpaid unless PTO is used.– Waiting period is waived if taking bonding leave immediately

after pregnancy leave– Provides 6 weeks of paid time for employees who take time

off work to care for a seriously ill parent, child, spouse/domestic partner, or to bond with a new child within one year of birth.

– PFL covers approx. 55% of regular weekly wage up to $1,011/week for 6 weeks.

Paid Benefits

SFDC Paid Parental Leave– 4 weeks of pay at 80% of your weekly on-target earnings

up to a maximum of $5,000 per week– For maternity leaves, this benefit pays immediately

following pregnancy disability period (6-8 weeks after delivery) with no waiting period.

– For adoption and paternity leaves, there is a 7 calendar days waiting period

– This benefit is coordinated with Paid Family Leave (PFL).

Maintenance of Benefits While you are on leave, your health benefits will be maintained during the

protected leave period given that you continue to make benefit contributions.

You have the option to catch up contributions upon return from leave over 2 pay period.

During any unpaid leave time, the employee will not accrue PTO, make 401(k) contributions, and is ineligible for company 401(k) match and paid holidays. If you have a 401(k) loan, please email [email protected] for instructions on repayment.

Stock Options and RSUs will continue to vest during the protected leave period.

ESPP – the money you have contributed toward the ESPP will be used to purchase stock during the purchasing period.

During leave, you will not be able to submit toward fitness or education reimbursement programs.

improve pregnancy outcomes– Educational information on prenatal care, labor and delivery,

Meals on SFDC: – Salesforce.com provides a $250 allowance toward

take-out meals when you are home caring for your newborn or newly adopted child. This will be paid out the last day of the month when you begin leave.

Privacy Rooms– The San Francisco and San Mateo offices have

privacy rooms for nursing mothers. To schedule a time slot, please book on Outlook calendar under “_Privacy”.

Adoption Assistance Reimbursement– Reimbursement up to $5,000 per child for eligible adoption

exclusive salesforce.com child care center on 220 Spear St.– Priority to various CCLC (CA), KinderCare and Bright Horizons

Applying For Leave

Step 1: MUST BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO STARTING LEAVE Call Mary or Lexi at the Larkin Company at (650)938-0933 or (866)923-3336 to file your leave

claim Log onto TOM (Time-Off Manager) in Org 62 if you are planning to take any PTO during the

eligibility waiting period or any unpaid time throughout the leave.

STEP 2: ADDING THE BABY OR CHILD IN BENEFITS Enroll baby in benefit by logging in to Workday within 30 days of event. You must use your

salesforce.com laptop and VPN to access Workday. Use your network ID and password to log into Workday. Go to Benefits Change Benefits

Benefit Event Type = Birth/Adoption/Legal Guardianship. The event date is the date the adoption is finalized.

 STEP 3: RETURNING FROM LEAVE Please let Mary or Lexi know once you are ready to return to work.
